Hmmm... Has a lot of potential I hope it won't go to waste. Please let her learn basic self defense cuz I'll go nuts if until the end of the story she'll be the damsel in distress.

Theories:
He only kill those who have wronged him or her. He protects her so much so maybe he sees those killer nutjobs as a threat to her so he rid of them or maybe he only killed the 4th guy. The person who killed her has something to do with kim in cheol, the same person who could've killed her mother. OR mc's stepmother has a hand in it cuz she's sus.

PS. I ain't going home without their marriage (mc's father and stepmother's) going down. It just doesn't feel right and it's kinda dangerous on the well being of ha ram(? mc's half sibling i think?)
