If the girl (Song Something, the one that slapped) was a guy and Jing Shao hit them then other people wouldn’t be so angry and wouldn’t be calling this manhua sexist. People who wouldn’t be angered about that having a bad mindset because you should defend men who are abused by their spouses, (women or men).

Which is a good point. I know some people would be cheering at the slap, if it wasn’t a woman. It’s a very simple and narrow mindset to only stand up for women and not men. You should stand up against abuse regardless of the gender of the assailant or the victim.

Also, I believe that they’re saying that the slap should be taken as the issue of rank rather than of sex or gender. Like historically: male or female would be punished for trying to up or go against their superior.
