In terms of artstyle, id personally say anime
The manga it's kinda hard to read on here (text is too small and blurry also it's double paged?!?) so I wouldn't suggest reading it here but you kinda get more closure reading it bc of the sequel story
What I did was watch the anime and read the last few chapters of the manga, so idrk if the story changes much in the manga vs anime ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
Read the Manga first, the manga in my opinion does the whole "American '80s gangster, mafia" better than the anime. The manga had more detail when it comes to the political scenes and in my opinion, sells the whole
"gangster and mafia lifestyle" more believable.
Also the manga's art-style tends to look more western, in my opinion.
If that's the case, I'd watch the anime first. Why read something great and watching something good when you can watch something good then read something great? Makes the experience an upgrade instead of a downgrade. That's why I always watch the anime first.

But I still stick with my opinion, because there is a "certain scene" in the anime in episode 9 that wasn't part of the original 19 volume manga (I'll try my best not to spoil it) that would make not sense to viewers who haven't the manga sequels. That "certain scene" was a reference to the "Another Story: Angel Eyes", which was one of the sequels to Banana Fish.

Great news l finally got back in and that was only temporarily.
Hiii guy im struggling with something, look i life in a country and we have a day called ‘Sinterklaas’ thats when some old guy gives us presents, like santa. Soooo my friends wanted to celebrate it and i agreed with them, but we didn’t set a date yet. Suddenly yesterday they said: “Im looking forward to friday because then we can celebrate it” and i was like, what i didnt know this. So i said to them that friday is not a good day for me, because i have a lot of test and assignments the next 2 weeks. So i said that i didnt knew of this and that i cant go because you know, but they don’t understand. I also have a part time job, so i have A LOT to do. We have a break in 3 weeks, so i said: “Can’t we celebrate then” but no one responded (whatsapp group). We are a group of 6 people, with me included, and 2 of them tried to change the date, but after asking 1/2 times they gave up. 3 of just them said “ Ahh thats bad that you cant come”. So today i said in the whatsapp group: “I dont know if you guys know this, but i really dont like the idea that you are going without me, and that you just planned a date that i didn’t know of” after reacting, we argued because they just said nonsence and the 3 who didn’t try to change the date, said that they did try. I tried to stay as mature as possible and said that from my point of view only 2 of them tried to help and if the other 3 also helped in private and i didn’t know of it, or that i didn’t hear/read well, then its my fault for understanding wrong. One of them got mad because she said i am ungrateful of the fact that they did try to help. Our break is 2 weeks and the reason they cant go is: 1 of them had school and apperently she can’t go afterschool, but this friday she can? Eventough we have school too? The other one has, birthday partys, new year party and part time. But who has so many things in 14 days? There has to be at least 1 day free.
But i dont know if im the wrong one for overreacting, but if you want to ask something, you can ask anything
Ahhh another thing, The only guy in our group didn’t go to out halloween party, because he didn’t have someone who could bring him home, so he planned something with his boyfriend. The girl used that as an excuse, because she said: “He alsof couldnt come to out halloween party and he didnt talk about it, so i dont understand why its such a big deal that you cant come to this one” but she knows that my parents are strict and that i cant go to a lot of party’s, like only 1/2 a month or so, and that guy can go to any party he wants, all day long, everyday, he drinks and all the other stuff. So i was like disappointed she said that, because she compared me, a girl with strict parents and can finally go to out party, with a guy who can go to anything he wants, whenever he wants
You’re not in the wrong. You felt left out and your friend group didn’t do much about it, so you told them how you felt. That takes a lot of courage tbh I’d never do that.
I think they just handled it the wrong way because they were excited to go and (like you said) didn’t look at your point of view. I’d leave everything be for now you shouldn’t anger your friends anymore (again it’s not your fault some of them seem ignorant) You should just maybe reconsider who’s your friends if someone called you “ungreatful” ..that’s rude as hell

But like @Visoura, fake it until you make it. I'm slowly improving when it comes to talking to people. Like, every time I have to pay for something at my bookstore or anywhere, I find myself missing a dime or a quarter and I just rummage at my purse when meanwhile in my brain, I'm panicking because you never know if someone behind me is in a hurry, they have a bad attention span, etc. XD
