Ok listen.. hear me out before destroying me. I have grandparents and that are like 8 years apart and I know others that have closer or further age gaps. So honestly reading this I don’t mind an age gap. Ofc I don’t want them having any romantic before they are both 18 at best honestly however seeing the time period it might just be at 15 year old where they might be “romantic” to a certain point. But even that won’t bother me as in the period of time it was normal I mean look at history… but that’s also why there are laws and things now. So honestly is it really bad there a 6 year gap????? Genuinely asking
Age gap is less important when dealing with fictional story because we can/when we can see the characters psyche. A 18 - 19 relationship can be predatory and a 16 - 19 can be healthy.
I must repeat this is in a fictional scenario/story because, I repeat, we can see the psyche, the maturity and the intent of the character involved. It then become a question of the author moral and intent.
Right now I hope for the romance to start when our fmc is no longer a maid and that the Ml has no authority over her. And let's hope for no weird "older ml experience talk"
It's not about the gap in itself it's about their ages. A 34 yo dating a 26 yo is whatever. A 22 yo dating dating a 14 yo is beyond creepy. The same gap even lower just gets worse and worse. Also "it was normal in medieval times" is not true. Even if child engagements and marriages did occassionally happen, we're talking about romance here.

My parents have a 10 yo age gap, and im (25) seeing a guy over 30… its not that much, but wed rather have the younger be of age, when romance starts.
