Guys, I’m so so tired of flat characters.. it’s not just that everyone has the same personality, it’s that everyone doesn’t have a personality to begin with. I swear every manga I read, the characters are just the, characters. They don’t feel real, relatable, deep, developed, or unique.. like no matter how beautiful the art is, a stick figure could have more personality than some of these characters.
I just want someone to write an individual with deep emotional intelligent thought, am I asking for that much?
Read Gachiakuta. All the characters and personality’s are so unique and refreshing to read about I couldn’t ask for anything better like they got everything in there. They’re all so relatable in a way it’s just so nice.

I’m convinced that only a select few authors know what a personality is and how to apply one to a character. Maybe it’s a western preference that each character has an identifiable personality, using a goofy reference here, “Dean Winchester” but I feel like every individual i see in a manga is this flat caricature of a person. Like actions have 0 emotional impact unless it’s this romantic scene or tragic backstory, but after that we get nothing.

Now there are some manga that are actually bad, things with super controversial topics sure, but right now all I see is people yucking other people’s yums to make someone mad and.. honestly it’s depressing. Mangago was a happier place in the months we didn’t have the chat feature.
