Trash! Garbage! What an asshole!
He was never her friend in the first place was he? If you're only kind to someone, because you want to bed them, you're no friend at all! Luckily this doesn't happen in real life /s
Say what you want about Shinpei, but he does value her consent in his own way. He doesn't want to merry her, if she doesn't want to marry him. He didn't want to kill her for not marrying him, but for lying to him and then gave up on it immediately! And Shinpei is still an asshat! How can you be more of an asshat to your friend, than the man hired to murder her! Ew!
AAAAAAA I want to steal the FL away and give her a good warm meal on an island with no assholes!

I'm sorry, if I'm missing something, but so far (ch 29) it's just some dude, who murdered people for his crush without the crushes consent, gets dumped by said crush, tries to kill himself in the wedding day of his crush and his best friend, proceeds to be mean to his wife. Unrequited love is always sad, yes, but it's not a moral failure to not love someone back.
There's nothing sympathetic about him "I did everything for her and she still chose someone else!" Okay grandpa, let's get you back to r/niceguys.
I don't think the og FL is a good person by any means, it's an interesting flaw that she stopped caring about the people she had responsibility for as a saintess, but the story doesn't actually care about those people. They're only brought up, to make of FL look bad, while disregarding that our FL only used her power (money) to stalk her crush. I like our FL, but her motivation is so wack. Imagine, if the girlfriend of the dude, who you stopped talking to, because he couldn't get over his crush on you, came into your life and tried to make you as miserable as she can.
I think the story would be really fun, if it was pushed a bit further. He murdered people for his love! Let him get ruined, exiled, imprisoned, anything! Let it be her (of FL) who begged him to do it! Then, I'd care about the fact, that she'd betrayed him. If you want the drama, let the Cael be mean to the FL longer, to make it clear that it's the story about two unrequited loves. Idk!!! I'm a little disappointed, bit maybe there's some twist I don't know about.

If you want ML material this is not for you, it is literally about the second part in a relationship the one who did the dirty work, Cael did what he did, not because that family was mean to og mc or something and he wanted to get points but because they where doing ilegal stuff, and planning to kill his friend who is a fucking saint, he is the one responsible for this kind of stuff in the first place as the right hand of the imperal family, and kael and og mc where obviously not strangers, the three of the them were described as best friends who shared the Concern for the empire, all his plans where discussed in advantage with crown prince and og mc (obviously not deeply with her), Kael was of great help for her and crown prince to stablish themselves and again he didn't expected anything in return he did that cuz he genuinely just wanted to see them happy, and it was not her rejection that drove him to a depression, it was the fact he took the fall, blame and bad reputation, gave part of his own heath, gave all the glory for these people who he considered a friend to turn their back and in OG fl case despise him because of her religious beliefs, that we see even more now are just hypocrisy and his others best friend who he grew up with abandoning him and take the other person side, and like he never even existed they proceeded to date and marry, while he is dealing with the most difficult time of his life, Hess as a reader whose fav character was him was deeply moved and annoyed by this situation, this is one thing the other you seems to be forgetting is that she reincarnated in this manhwa lost her life....like literally all her life, work, family everything and was thrown in this unknown place, AS A COMMON AND SICK PERSON, obviously she got depressed for her lost life, for her loneliness, we don't know if she didn't already had a tendency for depression what we know is that she was going to kill herself when her fav character appeared in front of her, OBVIOUSLY she got deeply attached to this character/person who was going trough the same pain of not having a place in the world, obviously she tried to help him, obviously when he died she was deeply shocked and sad and angry and everything he was literally her whole life there, so obviously when she was given another chance she didn't wanted that to repeat and made her mission to protect him, even because she knows what a awful person benefit from all his suffering, who didn't even fulfill her own religious duties, but felt in the right to think of herself as a goodness who could judge and condem others, a person who got all the help in the world to get in the highest position but didn't take the responsibility and so on, I think it's very realistic that besides helping cael, the empire and commoners she wants to at least take back what she is not grateful of
Hestia isn't a saints who can heal all wounds and mind, nor is the literal crown princess to have a power in law, but she does what she can for the time period and knowledge she has

It is said his parents died, his reputation was ruined bc of OG fl back lash, his friends turned their back on him, he faced a trial/was "fired" of his "right hand" position
I dunno if is just my own depression but if I lost the few friends/family that I have left + my job that I love, and the person I like betrayed me and not only that started to date my best friend....who knows of the betrayal and took advantage of it pluss being bad mouthed by everyone......it wouldn't be the same as just getting dumped and losing two friends
he was only remembered and "called back" because they needed him again

"some dude, who murdered people for his crush without the crushes consent, gets dumped by said crush, tries to kill himself in the wedding day of his crush and his best friend, proceeds to be mean to his wife"
"He murdered people for his love! Let him get ruined, exiled, imprisoned, anything!"
--- After reading all the chapters and this is what you got from the current story? LOLLL
Imagine sacrificing his reputation just to get abandoned by the two people he cherished the most (and benefited the most from it) just because they (especially ogFL) reduced his action to simply "being morally wrong" and "murdering someone" as if the "murdered" family wasn't already a burden to them enough to bring Cael and the Crown Prince to such decision (because the Crown Prince doesn't really have a backbone to punish them hence Cael being his shield does the dirty work for his friend and for the empire itself).
And suddenly, he became a scapegoat because of the backlash for doing that while the two og leads had their "happy ending" and didn't even help him at all (after all the oh-so-pure-and-always-morally-right ogFL was the reason for the backlash), not the shallow reason of getting rejected you think it was.
Also, Hestia's actions were indeed extreme and quite burdensome to Cael, but if I also got the means to do revenge for him, I would to, especially seeing how ignorant and narrow-minded the ogFL is after she became the crown princess.

Alright, the story is very cute, I actually like that there's no big plot twist and that it's about the mc learning he's lived instead of just loved by this one guy. BUT!!!
I DIDN'T FORGET THOSE TWO PANELS FROM THE EARLY CHAPTER, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED THERE????
The first panel was, when Mitten was asleep and Jooin just suddenly chocked him and then he woke up.
The second panel was, when Mitten was asleep on the sofa and Jooin suddenly appeared in front of him with a scary face saying "You humiliated me."
I DID NOT MAKE THAT UP. I was fearing the whole time about when the big "this is all of revenge" plot twist was supposed to happen. I prefer this, I'm happy that we got this, but I will not forget!

The first instance, I’m pretty sure that was a flashback of his old owner (jooin’s brother, you can see uniform sleeve cuffs on the hands which jooin was not wearing :P) choking him in his dream, which startled him so then he woke up.
And then the “you humiliated me” part was just jooin playing, completing the lines the the kdrama playing in the background to tease
Go get that wlw ending bestie!
