as a middle schooler i LOVED this webtoon but never actually caught up with it when it was still ongoing. now i found it again on mangago and finally finished it and im just…. like wow… the amount of nostalgia i got while reading was insane. this story wasn’t perfect in my opinion but ill let it slide because it was the webtoon of my childhood and literally has 640 chapters… imperfection was bound to appear with that many chapters in the span of 8 years

dr stone is honestly so peak and had sparked my interest in science years ago but one question i have after rewatching the anime is that how are the kids and the kingdom of science genuinely not traumatized from stanley and xenos full fawking blown military army shooting bullets everywhere from the corn city arc (correct me if i’m wrong it’s been awhile since i’ve read the manga and just started rewatching the anime)
like if i was them i would be suffering from major PTSD and shi because most of them are either high schoolers or kids and some adults but even so most of them were literally normal civilians before everything happened and now they’re battling it out with mega OP machine guns, snipers, airplanes, and submarines (IN THE STONE WORLD MIND U) like hell nah i would’ve 100% been the first one to be struck by a bullet if i were there … but props to all of them putting their utmost trust in senku like that’s my goat fr
even though i would admit that this story was one of the best redemption arc manhwas i’ve ever read, and that i absolutely loved the ending (especially with them growing old and starting a family together), i still can’t get over the fact that the first half was just so traumatizing with all the rape like.. i sort of get it because it makes sense and it is all part of the story/plot, but it’s just like… really?… sure, the ml really changed for the better, and this might be a hot take but i would say he is one of the BEST characters to truly realize their wrongdoings and take accountable for their own actions, especially because it’s so rare seeing the genuine mindset change in used-to-be rapists like him in manhwa, but even when reading past his redemption arc i always still had an uncomfortable feeling because you can never really just forgive and forget what evil deeds he had done against the mc from the start. i was legit about to drop this during the car scene. this wouldve been an absolute 10/10 without the rape but i still can’t lie about the fact that it was only because of it that made the redemption arc so meaningful and impactful to the story in general. i just wish there was some other way of portraying the mls offensive and atrocious behavior (basically what he did to the mc) in another way that would have a similar emotional effect to the storyline.
No character development no progression no depth but at least the smut is peak… and i genuinely pulled an all nighter for ts

i kinda wish there wasn’t thattt much smut because the plot of their past lives or whatever was actually so hooking to me it would go to flashbacks of their interesting past lives and then afterwards when it’s over and it’s back to the main plot it’s straight up them two doing the deed every single time the blonde ml would return home … it doesn’t help that the mc is just so tiny he can barely fight back against that tiger
but don’t get me wrong the smut is top tier but i feel like the large scale of it takes away so much from the main plot. especially when SOME scenes felt so repetitive. but even so the art absolutely captivated me, it’s amazing
