Damn I avoided this for so long cause I thought it was gonna be the typical "I-got-reincarnated-as-a-weakling-but-will-now-proceed-to-be-completely-OP-and-make-everyone-love-me"
BUT ITS NOT
PRAISE THE HEAVENS
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/e5/u1836696_50x50.jpg?2)
But it is though? Well, he's not completely op (because choi han is op) but he'll still be above average in terms of his powers. Also Cale will be loved/liked by almost everyone since they think he's a hero and carries the will of a God. Some citizens and knights almost look at him as a saint hahaha
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/81/u2027824_50x50.jpg?2)
Yea most mc's in this kinda manga always try to be a sorta hero or do VERY heroic things without realizing (like bruh you're telling me you didn't realize you saved an entire tOWN and keep insisting you only care abt ur self when you're saving people left n right)
I like how he really only wants to live a peaceful life even if he has to inadvertently save the world along the way, buts it not as exaggerated or blatant as most
He is pretty op, but again it pales in comparison to most op mc's, since choi han is the real op one here

Yes, the plot certainly isn't unique but becomes unique as it progresses. it's your typical fantasy transmigration novel but it satisfies what most kinda isekai stories lacks (such as why he was there, why he can be rational etc) and the interactions between characters are never boring imo, plus although it's kinda common, author was able to make the mysteries kinda unpredictable (I've read the novel so i could tell) and although some can be predictable, it still kinda hypes you up at least for me. Also, although mc is OP there are a lot of individuals who're stronger so he pales in comparison
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/81/u2027824_50x50.jpg?2)
Yeah, the difference between this manga and other stories like this is that Cale isn't the single most op character in the entire novel. The hero and prince from what I can tell so far are the actual op ones here - although the whole "I-have-a-mythical-and-super-powerful-being-as-my-pet" thing is a bit cliche. At least the dragon is still somewhat cautious and wild tho, like he SHOULD be after his experiences with humans, not like other mangas where they act like the mc's loyal dog.

E x a c t l y
Words cannot begin to describe the frustration I feel when in other mangas a super POWERFUL and HOLY beast acts like a freakin PUPPY. It's adorable, don't get me wrong, but so unrealistic and honestly gives off Mary-sue vibes. Especially when they ALL gravitate to the mc for some reason.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/cf/u1198203_50x50.jpg?2)
yes-
LIKE AREN'T THEY SUPPOSED TO BE SMART-
I too get frustrated when they're treated like some sorta mascot so Black dragon here is a breathe of fresh air.
Like He's cute, that's a given, but you feel more attachment with him because he can interact with everyone and his unique personality makes you love him even more, He doesn't act too adult despite being smart and still retains his childish personality which is appropriate for his age.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/cf/u1198203_50x50.jpg?2)
Ah- I get what you mean. Honestly same, That used to be my mindset as well back when i still haven't tried reading light novels. I literally beat myself out of frustration when what i want to visualize doesn't correlate with my imagination. like i seriously punch myself like a madman- especially since i prioritize imagining them AS HOT AS POSSIBLE--//SLAP
So, what I'd do is stare at some pretty fanarts that I'd find occasionally and browse some backgrounds for the setting HAHAHAH
But yeah i agree, It's a lot more better when it's drawn, i prefer it too ;-; but my impatient ass can't wait.

Lmao I can relate. The whole reason I started reading light novels was cause I wanted to know what happened next in a manga. What's that? WAIT for an UPDATE? You must be JoKiNg. wHo HaS tHe TiMe To Do ThAt?!1?1!
- someone who literally spends hours and hours surfing mangago because they have literally nothing better to do

Y e s.
AND! AND he's kinda arrogant too! He thinks humans are below him, and that he is a superior being to them. Which, yeah, he is.
Ig it could be kinda annoying for some people, but personally I find it so much more realistic. Like, yeah, if I was a mythical beast with powers no mortal could even hope to achieve, I'd probably be pretty arrogant too. Forget being a mascot, I'd prob be the villain or at least a very annoying asshole.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/cf/u1198203_50x50.jpg?2)
hNgnh YAH, I LOVE HIS PERSONALITY'S THO, i will never be able to understand how it can be annoying to others- (because I'm biased) plus, U IS RIGHT. That's what makes him realistic and cUTE. Plus being arrogant isn't such a bad trait although it comes off negative most of the time, really. Wether it's annoying or not really depends on the situation. I'd say being naive, overly cheerful , oblivious and smiley sparkley 24/7 is what I'd consider irritating and unbearable

D A M N R I G HT!
it gets so frustrating in some other fantasy novels where stronger beings act as a mascot or pet to the MC for fluff factor and because all the attention must be on "OP mc" in the novel.
That's why the dragon is more loved, I guess? He has his own personality, likes dislikes, is a genius, has his innate sense of pride for being a great and mighty creature, and actually contributes to the story instead of just being there to deliver "cute moments", although he does have his childish and cute moments more often than not. And Cale's relationship with the dragon and the cat siblings is actually one of the best things in the novel, like how he basically acts like a father figure to all three of them.
One more thing that I love about the novel is how it portrays the female characters. In most fantasy novels or manhwas, the female characters seem like they were added there because we have to have at least a strong female character and despite being strong they don't contribute much to the story and is only there to serve the purpose of being a potential romantic interest. That's why I love how almost all of the female characters introduced in the novel is badass in one way or the other. Heck, even Cale's nine-year-old lil sister is a badass.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/81/u2027824_50x50.jpg?2)
Or the female characters are there to swoon over the op mc. That's, like, their entire purpose. No plot, no contribution. Just the mc's personal love triangle - or worse, harem (because love triangles have SOME use. Harems are just for self inserts).
I also hate those annoying female characters that're just a complete jerk BUT we're supposed to like them for some reason?! Like a really badly portrayed tsundere. It's all fun and games until they start causing actual trouble for the protagonists.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/81/u2027824_50x50.jpg?2)
I k n o w r i g h t.
It's even worse when the MC is that annoyingly cheerful character. I know that they're supposed to be likeable and a good person n whatnot, but they have no ACTUAL personality traits.
Sunny? Check. Consistently cheerful? Check. Always smiling? Check. Realistic character flaws that make them relatable? Uh.... yeah, no, we're gonna skip that.
Like, a happy mc is good n all, but I just wanna see em snap and throw some hands.

I wasn't expecting to be personally attacked like that-
But yea, I prob only spent a fRACTION of all my time on mangago actually reading a manga. Istg I've read so many mangas that they all seem so cliche now so then I spend hours on end tryna find something remotely unique
And then the manga I end up reading is filled to the brim with the usual tropes
when it's both bl and gl
