Love can be eros, agape, familial, hell even self love blah blah..the love Yuri had is more of adoration, devotion, and leaning to agape. Is it harmful? No. Did Yuri's love forced Xinlu into suffering, pain, trauma, No. Was Yuri's love forceful, damaging, obsessive, possessive, predatory.. No. Xinlu is not being manipulated, not coerced, not controlled. Sure it's weird to living folks like us but the way of love for Yuri is very different from others and that is exactly what the author try to show us. His love only evolve or changes after Xinlu relentlessly pursue him, jumped on him, he demanded Yuri to change his ways of loving him.
I put this one as the same level as Perle their story is so tragic and bittersweet truly a masterpiece
