Towa's killer will be revealed in Chapter 13, but I guarantee it's most likely whoever you think it is. Pretty much every scene of them they look and act like they want to kill him again lmao

Yeah... The story is pretty much draw by numbers, clearly not that complicated and feels to me that it's everyone's (mangaka, storyboarder, editor) first story or something.
I think the simplicity is what makes it work tbh. The story isn't too complex and the art and pacing both make it pretty easy to digest. Until the full novel gets translated it's hard to tell what quirks in the manga are changes made by the adaptation team and what was just oddities from the source material Btw, Nakaochi is adapting another BL isekai light novel right now. The plot isn't groundbreaking either by the sounds of it and a lot of reviews on the novel are people feeling bad for the ML because the MC's a hardcore tsundere

I would like to see the difference between novel and manga. Right now it just feels like at least couple of people were either behind the times using old tropes/story styles that should have been buried long time ago - or just novices at work.
Simplicity isn't a bad thing, but how you execute it without making it look cheap or flimsy is more of the problem. Someone in this progress was lost how to do it right or well... Maybe even a couple of people. It could have been the editor of them manga who kinda have a lot of power unless mangaka/writer is able to have confidence and enough fame to push back.
I also would want to know is the original novel as much PDF hinted as the drawn reaction and way story goes with the manga. Because manga might have skip stuff to streamline it straight to romance, leaving a lot of fillers or build up, making it to look so bad.
Honestly, novel can't fully fix it, unless originally it ML was just feeling really guilty and not romantic at all, lust/romance building later when they meet often while MC is adult. And that weird 13 years old MC basically naked on his lap and ML's face thing was made just for the manga.
That flashback scene was just him checking for a Sacred Mark, Towa still didn't know whether Griz killed him and thought he'd hated him at the time so he misunderstood Griz's expression. The comment about it looking like a beast hunting prey was referring to an actual predator animal, not a child predator. Griz's feelings for Twilight did turn romantic while he was 13, he felt really guilty about it and didn't do anything because he knew it would be wrong on every level. The lust only happened when Towa came back as an adult
It's still bad, super uncomfortable and weird to read regardless, and they could have done a lot of things better for sure, but I don't get why people act like every story has to be fluffy and perfect. Dark romance is a whole genre of morally questionable or downright illegal dynamics that tons of people enjoy for different reasons, good and bad. As long as the story doesn't paint the problematic elements as healthy or ideal it's just a matter of individual preference and comfort levels

Yeah... For old Japanese BL and shoujo levels the PDF stuff in this is really tame. And I have also learned to kinda ignore those things at times, but I'm not gonna make excuses that it's OK. Btw, nobody is asking for perfection or something not being a dark romance, but I think it's fair people to call out PDF stuff and ask not to have that. Dark romance doesn't need to be PDF stuff.
So.... Who killing towa tho???? Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
