A lot of people are complaining about the significance of the moments in the chapters and how slow it is getting.
But I actually prefer it to be of slower pace, since it is such a big moment and the climax of the story. It let's you in suspense, while also letting certain moments flow naturally and it also enables more details from the novel to be included.
Especially since, when it comes to manhwa adaptions, a lot of people, who have read the novel (be it before or after) complain how the manhwa didn't include certain scenes, that would explain the plot better or that are too well-written, for them not to be included.
By the way, this is by no means trying to hate on anyone, just trying to make a point and as someone who hasn't read this novel in particular, in full agreement with the novel readers.♡
Since this manhwa is on the longer side, I believe it would be badly executed, for the ending to be rushed, which happens a lot.... So I see this as a breath of fresh air, which not only applies to the pace of the ending, but the whole manhwa itself! Truly one of my top favorites~
I am LOVING this manhwa. The ONLY thing I feel really crushed about tho, is the fact that Cheol seems to be a completely different person, than he initially was... I understand a person changes, but there is usually a little aspect of a person of who they were before the change, that remains...
Don't get me wrong i love Cheol, but I am sad, bcs he used to be so level-headed, logical and observant regarding everything, just like his uncle, who I believe he takes after a lot.
That just makes me kind of annoyed at the enourmous lack of it later on. To the point, that everyone seems to see him as not that bright of a person, when in actuality, in highschool he seemed to be (in a few aspects) on a similar footing with Miyoung, which is why Miyoung even got interested in Cheol in their teenage years... ╥﹏╥
This reply came pretty late cause I just finished this now but honestly speaking, this is what trauma, depression can do to a person, especially when they don't have a good enough support system.
Cheol was still abused by his family by being forced to marry someone he didn't love, and had to live like a run-away because of everything. It looks so hard to believe how someone who still have so much in him to lose himself, at left with only a little husk, but that is yeah, what trauma do to you.
I like this contradiction despite how painful it is, the fact we as readers can feel such difference means the story-telling was good, because we are supposed to feel so crushed for someone who was so bright, and have a future ahead of him, being brough down so badly because of circumstances he couldn't control at his age and then everything gone haywire.
I geniunely hope he can get back up after all this, with or without Miyoung help because that would be his character dev and he deserved it so much (Miyoung also have so much problems, I don't know if I would be glad if he stepped in to help Cheol at this point, cause I love this, but they are both two huge mess).
What got me mad, was not the tending to the concubines itself, but the fact that Shuraka doesn't explain ANYTHING to Tei and just lets him be in the dark. And just him saying "All you need to do is be by my side" like some trophy, completely invalidating Tei's want and need to be of use and worthy by proving it...
It pisses me off... It just looks like to me like he wants him to be a puppet (probably and hopefully not, but it surely will be taken that way, since he isn't explaining anything). I hope Tei stands his ground and refuses that type of treatment...#-.-)
What I find the most annoying, is the fact that he meddles in her work and her ambitions waaayyy too much, but as soon as she wants to make a proposition or comment on something of his, it's suddenly not "allowed".
I completely understand being on edge and him lashing out, bcs unfortunately I do that a lot as well when I am stressed (I am still working on my anger issues), but come on.
Why does he always get praised for meddling, while she always has to suck it up. It's really getting on my nerves...
I like that this manga shows a more humane side of the characters, but why does she (MC) always have to take it quietly. This just makes me think they shouldn't be in a relationship, bcs of how different they are.
(Difference can be good, but if you can't talk things out or respect one another properly, the way I see it, the relationship is doomed.)
Sorry for the whole paragraph, I was quite annoyed at the whole situation...

THIS is exactly why I was soooo excited for his pov. His attitude was suspicious from the very beginning and it was sooo evident he wasn't a little innocent boy everyone made him out to be.
It made me so mad how everyone was trying to make him out to be some kind of a saint stuck in hell, but never recognizing the differences in his behaviour and now all of a sudden almost everyone is switching up....Bfr ( ̄へ ̄)
