I'm going to revisit this story later to see if I was in a fragile state or if it is just that good, because it felt really good. There's a slow, comfortable development of attachments. It feels real. I'm really drawn to stories like this I think. Reflections of humanity 'n all that lol.
Deals with some really heavy topics and intense themes despite the deceptively cute art style. The careful way the author reveals crumbs of information as the various stories progress and weave into each other feels so real and natural it's scary.
No romance, just mutual affection. Somehow a really lovely story despite one of the main characters fully being a member of the Yakuza. Short and so sweet <3
It's the kind of plot you don't forget about for a while. Almost traumatic to read actually, and the incredible art doesn't help with this intense emotional impact.
And a wicked-smart protagonist, with some morally grey areas lol. Plus an awesome and interesting power system.. A plot and characters with so many layers that Shrek should be jealous.
The first story I read on here to give me a stitch from laughing AND make me bawl my eyes out. It felt a little immature at first, but it's one of those styles that just grows on you I reckon :D
