I would've liked to see the MC gain some friendships and truly feel close to people without being overly dependent on the ML. Also would've liked to see that babyyyy (I didn't even notice it on the cover until someone else pointed it out, that's just crazy not having a baby shown in the story atp). I feel like I was waiting for the big secret reveal being that the ML is actually part of the mafia bc what do you mean he has all that power and bodyguards from a regular CEO job??? The family is also so weird to the point that it took me out of the story most of the time. It was a solid cliche non-rapey yn x ceo bl that didn't do anything special, but also didn't do anything to pmo that much and I can appreciate that at least
There comes a time when you find a somewhat popular manhwa with hot looking characters. You're promised a masculine bottom who's strong and tough but has a cute and kind side (and he can be considered an unreliable narrator too)
Now imagine my disappointment in finding out this does not live up to the hype. It's left a bad taste in my mouth and it's because there's a huge lack of agency for our MC. He's been forced throughout this entire story to go along with others' whims, constantly raped, with the more interesting parts of the plot shoved to the side for even more rape-romance scenes. I feel scammed out of my time.
I wanted more scenes exploring the brothers' interesting family dynamic, the two-faced lover and his schemes, any and all of the mysteries that were first introduced to be more focused on. But NOOO we HAVE to see Taeui get violently raped for the hundredth time. Heck the only time there's even a tw for a rape scene is when Taeui is pinning down Ilya before running away which is just hilarious to me.
It's giving 'girl gets forced to live with vampires and werewolves and has to try to survive them all doing whatever tf they want to her.' I'm currently on ch. 103 and really struggling to go on. I can only hope their dynamic becomes even a bit more bearable in the next few chapters
You're on 103? Please read till the end and idk but I hope you would at some point see something through those episode (especially that one special episode which got me crying and hopeful) I love how you share your feedback about this and honestly you're right, just Taeui being continuously rammed by Ilay ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄ through the episodes, and for a bit there was no progress but PLEASE BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THIS YOU'LL DEF LOVE that one episode of Ilay and Taeui at some point!! But we still have different opinions and I respect yours(▰˘◡˘▰)
I think this is one of those stories you either love or hate. A lot of people don’t like the beginning and think it’s boring, but I remember when I first stumbled upon this series it only had like 40 chapters out and I was obsessively reading then i found out there are novels and looked for them until I found a group MTL-ing them into Spanish.
In my opinion, I don’t see Tae as a pushover, but more like someone who works with what he’s got. Yes he’s surrounded by horrible people and it’s unfair but he doesn’t expend his energy in things he can’t control.
If you continue reading you’ll find more times where you’ll be pissed off, then the story ends, but it continues in 2 sequels (so about 7-8 more novels) that flesh out the relationship.
The tiger doesn’t change his stripes, but he does show he cares.
I feel like the rating for this is lower than it should be. This is a story with political intrigue, revenge, reincarnation, and atonement. The characters' personal motivations are overall clear and each plot point stays connected from one moment to the next. It wasn't as confusing to read as the comments make it out to be. Maybe it's because I was able to binge read instead of wait for each chapter update.
Spoiler warning though, the unnecessary rape between our main couple is understandably a turn-off to the story. I feel like I've read plenty other "taming a tyrant" type plots with this cliche so I had an easier time overlooking the issue. However, this story does not romanticize the rape and instead shows the immense mental damage and cruelty inflicted on the MC. This makes it all the more satisfying when you see the ML self reflect and strive to be better after understanding his mistakes. The relationship is able to progress to one of mutual respect and kindness between the two.
I also see the many complaints of a rushed ending and while I agree that more to the story could have been delved into, the main storyline of our couple and their internal motivations were resolved. Some side stories about the God, MC's further rise to power, the Empress Dowager's eventual demise would've been nice to see, but ultimately the story chose to end once the main conflict and resolution took place. The main ending itself was a little rushed but I don't think it took away from the overall read. All in all, this is an "I can fix him" cliche story that is done well in a historical drama BL reincarnation setting
Randomly decided to complete this. I'd say the best way to describe this story is like a dumpster fire you can't look away from. The beginning is borderline unreadable from how disturbing and dark the content is. But you end up finding yourself continuing only to answer your questions of how these students might overcome the game or view their deepening relationships. I think once I realized the author purposefully made every character the worst person they could be, I better understood the point of this manga and could enjoy it a little more. I definitely wanted Azusa to get more revenge only because he did not deserve the treatment he endured only to have his relationship with his perpetrator aka rapist romanticized. However this is far from boring and still a classic

Wait lowkey this is a pretty good read! It has drama, mystery and intrigue, past romance, and some fun sexy time lmaoo
