He was raped right beside his dead mother as a child, and no one did anything to bring him justice. So now that he's come across another thief, he's doing something called projection. He remembers what happened to him as a child and believes that now, he'll be able to get satisfaction by raping him, just as what was done to him.
It's a disgusting, dangerous logic, but it can happen. This is why mental health and trauma should be taken seriously.
