Hello everyone. I am going through severe anxiety and i just wanted to ask if anyone knows how to calm your nerves. My body has been on constant fight or flight mode and I don’t know what to do anymore. I am seeing a doctor soon but any tips would be greatly appreciated whether works or not.

Edit : thank u for any advice <3 my anxiety is health anxiety. I understand I am fine but my mind doesn’t. but my thoughts add on. I hope that makes sense. I am hoping to somehow beg for any help at the doctors lol. I’m also sorry if I make any typos It’s night and I’m just crying myself to sleep so I can atleast get anything else out smh. I hope everyone who has the same problem gets help and gets anything they wish for in the world :)

    I'm not a specialist or whatv but i count my breathing. 4 seconds inhale, 4s hold, 4s exhale, 4s hold, and so on. Or sometimes i give myself pep talk lol like how i give advice to my friends i would do to myself

    Oh i would also add that i pick up a new serie to binge watch. Recently i finished my little pony:fim. It honestly helped and now that I'm better I'm watching superstore ^^

    When i have an anxiety, i would just cry it out lmao deadass i would cry for hours till i feel stupid about it. Then i would make myself feel better by watching yt whether it's a gaming content or cat videos.

    hey twin im not sure if this is helpful advice but i lwk watch slime videos and listen to piano music to calm myself down when nervous, not sure this will work but i hope everything gets better for you

    Hello , this might no be much help , but try always carrying one thing that u sure can distract you during anxiety attack . For me , i always bring a chewing gum everywhere , so whenever i feel just slightly bit anxious and think im gonna hv a panic attack ,i chew on one , so the chewing will distract me . Its like you try to placebo yourself , eventho you know its not a real meds . It might seems like you're getting dependent on it , but trust me , overtime , you'll be able to control it .

    As for how to regulate your nerves and feeling . Usually i try to imagine the outcome in the way i want for any situation that cause me stress . For example , if i hv an assignment due tmr . And is stressing abt it , i try to make a step by step in my head of me doing the work first . So when i can see the the vision of me actually able to finish it , it calms me . Now i feel like i know what to do , so i'll be more calmer when doing it , cus i know i'll be able to make it done .

    Btw , dont stop yourself from crying too ! Thats very important . The start of anxiety usually bcs ppl hold back too much from crying or letting out emotion . So if you feel like crying , just cry .if you can cry now cus ur in public ?? Just cry later when ur home ! U dont feel like crying anymore ?? Make yourself rmmbr why you want to cry earlier and cry ! As long as you cry until you rlly dont feel like crying anymore , it honestly will help you feel less anxious slowly .

    I use my migraine roll on. It's not a fullproof solution but it helped me many times.
