Taeho is the type of character who wants to be so bad "The asshole who pretends he doesn't love the protagonist because he has a deep backstory that prevents him from doing so" but in reality, he is just an asshole. The dude acts like he doesn't love him and at this point, I legit think he doesn't love or even cares for him. He is mean to him with the excuse that he doesn't want Eunwoo dead, but at the same time, he keeps pushing himself in his life like a parasite, preaching about wanting to free Eunwoo. The story has shown that Eunwoo is perfectly capable of making friends and even love interests, the one who doesn't believe it is himself and a lot of it is thanks to Taeho. I don't care at all what happens to him, all I care about is that the title is a metaphor of him being gone.

Since many are only manga readers, I come with some extra info from the novel that you've of course missed! Don't worry it's not spoilers, as it's Ursch's POV from way back (probably around the first or second novel chapters which are the first two manga chapters here I believe) and the now released chapter 7! Just hoping it helps someone who doesn't necessarily wants to read the novel :)

First of all, the novel tags include YANDERE ML. Many wonder if Ursch is a yandere character or not but at least the tags in novelupdates include that one so yes he is confirmed as one so far.

Second of all, HE LOVES ISABELLA. I know that many are worried that because he's a yandere or whatnot Isabella won't be happy and such (I understand why you'd be worried, she deserves the world) but that's why I come with this info here:

In Ursch's POV, which you see a little of in the manga (when he explains about 'his treasure' and how he's found it) you can truly feel how much he loves and cares for Isabella. He would never hurt her or do anything that would make her unhappy, so don't worry about that. He has a LONG speech, it's a full extra chapter yes, explaining the whole treasure thing better and why he's fallen hard for such a cute girl and else. It's honestly adorable, not creepy nor scary at all.
Second of all, Isabella hints in the novel that she KNOWS about Ursch's yandere tendencies and vibes while getting to know him, and she doesn't care. In fact, she's happy that she's getting to know him better and just like the latest manga showed she's willing to stay with him forever even after knowing his scary side.
Chapter 7 and 8 of the manga cover the, so far, longest novel chapter, and of course a lot has been missing (specially their inner thoughts). When Ursch says that even if she's sick of him and tries to run away he won't leave her side, Isabella has a small inner speech talking about how his personality is truly different from what she thought and recalls a lot of incidents that have happened since they met. She clearly states, like I mentioned previously, that she loves him all the same and is actually happy he would feel so possessive of her which is why she replies the way she does. Isabella is not a yandere of course, but damn she's pretty obsessed in a healthier way I guess? of Ursch as well so you could say they're the perfect couple!!! It's honestly quite endearing if anything.

Hope this gave more intel to those who wish for it, I just love this series very much (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

wow...one of the best manhwas i have ever read. [major spoilers ahead!!!]
the plot starts out with an average, everyday looking couple. its quite a mundane environment, which misleads readers into thinking that this one of your everyday romance mangas - but thats used as a deflection. the lack of dialogue is a representation of the unordinary, which adds a uniqueness to the story. the plot twist triggers a complete change to the initial atmosphere of the manhwa, leading readers into being immersed into the main character's true emotions of absolute heart break. this manhwa captures the realistic universal emotions that one feels from heart break, allowing us as an audience to relate to the protagonist on a spiritual and emotional level. from the plot, to the characters, to the art style - this manhwa is an absolute masterpiece.

I know I'll get a lot of hate for this, but I'm saying it anyway:
I know everyone are hating on the head maid (forgot her job title), the princess, and hope Alejandro stops Ibelina, but I think all of this is OK.

The head maid isn't wrong, considering the time and their status. She's been told all her life that servants are the lowest, and back then social status was everything. If anything she's doing this for Ibelina's sake. This has nothing to do with jealously or power greed. Yes Ibelina was the only one to care for him when he was cursed, but that was 1. her job, and 2. that time is long past.

Ibelina is just creating more drama because she doesn't understand the society, and thinks she can do whatever as long as she doesn't get into a romantic relationship with Alejandro.
I personally think that it's better if she leaves, get a new career, and creates a name for herself. That way, if they meet again x years later, she will no longer be a maid and be a more acceptable candidate for him.

As for the princess, she was a little child, probably 3-4 years old. Kids that age have no filter and she was scared. It's not like she knew how bad this would hurt him. He's allowed to hate her ofc, but as a reader I don't think she deserves it (from others than the person himself). Also if she becomes aware of it and tries to make up for it...
Also just because they met again after 12 years, where he has hated her the whole time, doesn't mean she will become a love rival.

So I've noticed a bit of a flower motif in this story that I wanted to talk about because why not.

So flowers. Flowers hold a specific meaning to the Duke's family. Upon proposing/marrying their fiance, the head of the Duke's family offers a garden full of flowers to the woman as a show of their love. This is a tradition that's probably dated back for some centuries, so it is pretty well established and a pretty important part of the "lore" so to speak.

Alexandro's late father gave Alexandro's mother a garden full of roses. Roses are typically represented as a form of deep love in most stories, movies, books, etc so you'd expect their love to be just as deep as the roses the Duke gave his wife. But in this story, the Duke and his wife fucking hate each other. They regularly cheat on one another, can barely seem to stand to be around one another, and maintain the fact that their marriage was purely political with no sense of attachment whatsoever. This sort of disdainful apathy even extends to their son, who they couldn't give any less of a fuck about.

As a result, roses take on a different kind of meaning in this story. It represents the illusion of love, a false love that gives off the pretense of being real. And this sort of representation extends to Alexandro's love for Elenora in the original story.

Whenever we see Elenora in this story, her image is surrounded by white roses. There are white roses when Elenora and Alexandro meet after so many years apart, white roses whenever she's brought up, and white roses whenever Ibelina flashes back to the original story and Elenora and Alexandro's relationship. White roses are a big thing with those two, so it would be right to assume that Alexandro offered Elenora white roses when he first proclaimed his love for her.

And here's the thing about white roses: they're commonly used as a symbol of true love. A pure sort of love, untainted by corruption and hatred. Happiness and perfection, all rolled up into a single flower. And initially, that's what Alexandro's and Elenora's love seems like. Elenora used her pure love to open Alexandro's heart, made him into a sweeter, more kinder man, and also used it to undo his curse. Her love freed him of the taint that had cursed him ever since he was young, giving him new life and purpose.

But here's the thing: a white rose is still a rose no matter how pure it may seem. Alexandro and Elenora's love seemed perfect and true, but -- just like the white roses that signified their love -- it was just an illusion. Elenora never loved Alexandro the way he wanted to be loved; she loved Deigo and probably thought of Alexandro as a friend or even brother. Alexandro believed in the promise of the pure love Elenora provided, never realizing how false it was. He continued to believe in it throughout his entire life, until he rebelled against the crown and died as a rebellious traitor, alone and unloved.

Much like how the false love between the Duke and his wife turned them into unsympathetic assholes, the false love between Alexandro and Elenora turned Alexandro into a desperate traitor willing to do anything to get a woman who probably never cared about him in the first place.

But then there's the love between Ibelina and Alexandro in this story.

During Ibelina's or Alexandro's dream sequences, we get brief flashes to the future where an older Ibelina and Alexandro are shown frolicking through a field of sunflowers, happy and content. Ibelina even mentions sunflower seeds, saying that they're her favorite snack. So its safe to say that the sunflower represents the love between her and Alexandro.

Sunflowers represent adoration, longevity, and loyalty. To give someone a sunflower is to bring joy and happiness into their life, lighting up their world and giving them some much needed warmth -- which pretty much defines Ibelina's and Alexandro's relationship to a tee.

Alexandro's life before Ibelina was pretty shitty, what with the curse and the asshole parents. Moreover, no one really cared about him or what he was going through, seemingly washing their hands of him the moment the curse started to go bad. She was the only one who ever made an effort to try and give him a good, joyful life, the only one to stay with him during those trying days when the curse seemed like it was going to kill him, the only one to truly seem him as adorable even with his curse and bratty attitude, and the only one who showed that she loved and cared for him even when everyone else did. And she did all of this despite believing that her actions would have no affect on his life; that he was destined to fall in love, be rejected, rebel, and get executed and that nothing she would do would ever make a difference.

The sunflower motif between Alexandro and Ibelina represents a different sort of love compared to all the other flowers. It is not the "deep" love of the normal rose or the "pure" love of the white rose. It is instead a sort of "realistic" love -- a love that is built up over time, through trust and affection. A love that starts out rocky, has a few bumps and obstacles along the way, but nonetheless is more tangible than any other. A love built on truth and trust, rather than an illusion and false promises. A love that can actually last, instead of falling apart.

Excuse you, peasants are what make a nation. Without them, they would be no king and no nobles. The nice clothes you wear are also thought out and made by peasants. The high class food you eat are recipes that were made by peasants. Your ancestors were once peasants too. And if you lose your title, you would, once again, become a peasant. And because you have no prior knowledge of surviving without a silver spoon, you will die. Within a month. In the streets. Alone.( ̄へ ̄)

Joowon fans:
Taku and Haesoo have just met and started spending time together.
Argument against Taku: He is not in love with Haesoo.
I don't know what is more ridiculous in this argument. The fact that they expect Taku to be dropping on his knees and proposing marriage to Haesoo or the embarrassing fact that Taku, who is not even in love with Haesoo yet treats him WAY BETTER and give him way more affection than the ONE supposedly in love with Haesoo ( for 9 fucking years).

Also Joowon fans:
Taku is obsessed with Haesoo. How dare the single guy flirt and get interested in Haesoo ( but at the same time hold back his feelings out of respect for Haesoo) and go after someone who picks his interest.
On a side note, Joowon pursues, controls, stalks, spies and dominates Haesoo as if his step brother were his property.. and Taku is the one obsessed??? You are fricking kidding me, lol.

The double standard and dishonesty regarding Taku and Joowon is amazing!!!
Taku can't be a single guy pursuing RESPECTFULLY and normally Haesoo that he is shady, manipulative, liar or obsessed ( or any other grade of trash they throw at him).
Joowon? Poor baby he is just a misunderstood guy who can't even do the basic decent thing of listen Haesoo when he says no. He treats Haesoo as shit but he is the one 'In LOVE' ... oh, please, give me break. Ship whatever you like but please, be honest and fair, people.

Bring down a character just because your favorite can't stand up on his own feet it just too obvious. Bottom line: Taku is showing respect and giving Haesoo what he wants. Trash as much as you want but it's the author writing the scenes and making the comparisons so just deal with it.

THANK GOD the author didn't put Taku saying that he is in love with Haesoo the second night they are together because that would be weird as fuck.!

Joowon had 9 years to move his ass and now he will do only because he will be forced too.... what a catch!
