I think Skip beat is entertaining because every arc something different happens and we see the protagonist grow up as an actress and love herself a little bit, so the romance is in second base. Also slow burn romance is about two characters learning about to love before sex. I feel in this case it’s too repetitive, this is like the third time we see Jay thinking “Did my boss plan everything?” Most of the time Taeha repeats the say inner monologues and Haesoo hasn’t grown her self love. In 120 characters Kyoko already cast in 2 ads and one tv drama.
The first hundred plus chapters, pacing was good. Alot of things happened I know,
But im saying the recent years
the chapters as of 5 years at least, after she and ren pretended to be goth siblings and ren having a role in a movie while being that, they have been absolutely dragging it out.
The only thing that happened for 5 years was her meeting her mom (no mention of her mysterious dad) kyoko and ren revealed their feelings for each other, kyoko learning martial arts for a movie and idk what happened with that and now ren idka participating in a foreign movie. I also remember that they reused some manga frames from tokyo crazy paradise the final fight for skip beat fight scenes. And some of the frames werent even properly lined.
Kuon, his past and his family, the other asshole ml, kyokos father, more acting roles for her, so many stuff hasnt been revealed,,,it feels like itll be a century till it finishes.
It feels like 1 chapter (that comes out after each month) is 1 hour in the skip beat world
And 120 chapters, thats like 10 years since it's one every month. Alot of things should've happened or else its an absolute drag.
Vs webtoons which are 3/4ch every month and it would take around 3 years, maybe longer with season end and hiatuses. I feel bad for the artists since they have such a fast deadline
I agree korean artists have it hard, but I just noticed here the same dialogues are going around for many chapters in this webtoon. They repeat the same things over and over. Besides this webtoon is not just produced by the author, it’s directly produced by Naver too, so they take decisions that usually consist in dragging it out the most they can. They produced a beautiful MV with an original song, so obviously they own part of this comic. And I’m pretty sure it will have a korean drama later. Remarried empress also dragged out so much.
About Skip beat, the 200 first chapters were great and were brief enough to develop a character, but yeah the last ones are just unnecessary.
