I like how this focus on the psychology of the characters and is actually horror, it actually fits more in the genres of mystery/horror/psychological than BL . The mystery of their past, the creepy stuff happening is actually the main thing and not the couple, its refreshing to see this , the couple is important of course but the story is not just about their relationship.
