Okay, well the author didn't make it super pronounced in the novel but they did start dating. And in the bonus chapters, after everything finishes and he did something (it's a major plot twist at the end) he is the only one who is a hunter on earth. (There is a lot of detail but I don't want to ruin the whole thing for you) but she sees him and remembers and they get married and have a kid, who he allows to train like a hunter. It's a very nice ending, I liked it. It's worth the read too there are some details missing in comic and fights are a little rushed, if you want more i sujest reading it. ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

basically the dark hair dude died cuz he saw the blond dude “dead” but the blond dude’s suicide attempt failed, as hes said “heavens gates didnt open for me”. so the dark hair dude in the beginning and end was actually the blond dude
