Her last line in ch12 makes me wonder.... does she have all of her memories of her past life? Is she missing memories and she doesn't realize it? Or was Ciel really just emotionally constipated?

This may just be my red flag blindness acting up, but since we got to see what Ciel experienced, I understand why he acted that way to Seohyeon. He was probably paranoid and worried af if he doesn't see her, fearing she would be in danger and used against him by the government who wanted to chain him to korea. Because he said *initially* he didn't like her, which means he eventually did grow affection for her (you could argue that it's due to the guiding, but I'd like to think that over time, Ciel grew to trust Seohyeon as someone he can rely on, and at the same time someone he has to protect.)

Still, as we saw from her POV, he really was overbearing to her, without even an explanation on why he acts that way. Honestly, if this is a wife-chasing story, I hope he works hard to regain her love and prove himself worthy of her this time. Compared to other scum male leads, he's pretty tame and much more worthy of forgiveness lol

This story is already so good, I love that they aren't prolonging the secret of her reincarnation to the ml. Really looking forward to the rest, I hope they keep up this momentum of pacing!

YYYYYEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH THIS IS SO REFRESHING LOVE THIS ISEKAI CONCEPT

This is my first time reading a straight guideverse lol

I hope they won't try to prolong her secret of being a guide and reincarnated, at least to the ml.

Still no update :(

Checked in on this cuz I remembered it randomly, but it hasn't updated in so long. I know it's wordy, but I weirdly find it so interesting. I like the mc's approach. I hope someone picks this up :(((

It's been 84 years.... I missed my boys they're in the parents meeting for marriage stage y'all

Maomao, you don't need to make another batch, the recipient already finished your leftover ice cream and loved it. She'll have another when she goes back to "work"

I first started reading this years ago when it just had like 3 chaps. The description was so cheesy and wacky I just had to check it out. And I was surprised that despite the ridiculous premise, it's actually an enjoyable read. I'm still not too sure why I have fun reading this. Cute kids? The not-instant-love romance between the ml and mc? How they handled the kids' "evilness"? The sheer unseriousness of this manga? Idk, but as someone who read this through the years, I enjoyed every chapter. It was crazy, but fun. To future ppl who'll read this in one sitting, I hope you enjoy this silly cute manga too !

I can tell this will be a happy ending. Why? Because the angst is not that angsty and could easily be resolved by honesty and communication. HAHAHAHAHAHA

I await the return of the Owens, hopefully we see their child(ren?) too. Nux, I'm glad you finally realized your feelings for Owen. When he comes back, be honest this time around alright? Tsunderes make for terrible partners when they don't learn from their mistakes. Owen, you were good at being honest about your feelings for Nux, so why would you leave like that without notice? I hope you have a good reason and explain it properly to Nux when you meet again.

Can someone explain to me why Cardinal Richelieu is a bad guy aside from the thing he did the previous life?

From his pov, we saw what he saw in the Vatican--men of supposed utter devotion to their god are instead devoted to gaining and maintaining power and wealth and perhaps even lust. Richelieu truly believes that he was chosen by god to continue his life for a reason, maybe to make a difference in the world idk. He wants to get rid of the corruption in the church, but as a newbie he knows he's powerless so he bides his time, gaining influence, until he can strike confidently.

But was Meissner right about him? Is Richelieu not doing it for the noble cause of purging corruption, but is actually just doing it to be on top? Does he just want power?

Lowkey would rather have him not have that kind of twist to his motivation. I think it'd be interesting to see the different choices he will make in the second life, where Shuri just unknowingly helped him oust a corrupt priest and bring to light the many crimes he committed while under the protection of the church. Cuz in the first life, he alone was the brains of his operation, and it seemed that everything all fell according to plan, meaning no one was acting out of his expectations. Shuri, in this life, is acting a bit different from what he expected. It could be a chance for him to tweak the details in his plan to not involve her brutal death? Maybe he'll find that there's another way to purge the corruption in the country aside from a whole ass war? Maybe he'll finally get enough sleep to reduce those eyebags?

Idk man my brain is too small for scheming

Please against all odds do not let that hypocritical bitch be the fl. What the fuck was she saying, "you do not deserve to be a player." Who tf are you to say that? So he's undeserving, but you, who is retaliating against the bullied for finally having the power to defend himself from the bullies who have assaulted him for so long while she did nothing, you think you deserve to be a player? Your justice is a farce. Performative. You're playing a role of a good girl and failing, yet people don't notice how flawed your justice is because of your rank. Disgusting.

I bet she falls in love with the mc. Barf.

If I can't have these hot single men, they can end up together. Let me be delusional about this. Thank you. Happy New Year everybody

I hate the freaking placeholder. Who tf made that a thing? Its purpose is apparently to let people know not to upload over them, but why does it even matter? Just upload yours regardless of anyone uploading over you. If the version you uploaded is higher quality, people will still read it. I know I would wait for a better version over a shitty mtl one. The notif that comes with the placeholder is so annoying. You think it's a new chapter, but nope, it's a damn placeholder.

Edit: If anyone can explain to me how useful a placeholder chapter is, I'll gladly listen. I may not change my mind about how annoying it is to get a notif of it though.

Edit 2: I still find placeholder chapters annoying, but I now understand its purpose with the context provided.

Spoiler from the novel below

From what I remember of the novel, there was an extra chapter in Sunghyun's POV (ML's lil bro) that showed that he actually had an unrequited love with the MC. It was after his marriage to the ML and already pregnant iirc, and the MC went to Sunghyun's college to pick him up for some reason I forgot, maybe just to hang out cuz they're friends. MC was like, "damn look at all the people looking at you, you must be so popular huh!" And mentally Sunghyun thought that it wasn't just him they were looking at, but also the MC, who looked positively glowing and gorgeous. Sunghyun looked back to the MC's experiences, from his attempted suicide when they first met to his miscarriage, and felt a mix of sadness and happiness. Sad because the person he loved went through such misery, but happy they met and happy that MC's better now, even if it's not with him. He's a kind brother really

I remember that chapter because that's the only chap I read from the novel lmao, but do correct me if I'm wrong

The Saimoris have abused Miyo her whole life. I never thought there'd be anyone worse until we get introduced to Miyo's maternal family, the Usubas. What the actual fuck were they saying back there, that they're better than Kudo? That it was Kudo's fault she got kidnapped??

Biiiiiitch be for real. Kudo didn't know about the abuse before getting to know his new fiance, Miyo. And once he did, he did his best to let her recover. He got revenge for her. Both of them grew to care for each other, and eventually felt that they wanted to start a family together, and only with each other, no other love interest will sway them.

And what did the Usubas do while Miyo was being abused? NOTHING. From the way they talked, they knew how she was being treated in that household. And yet they did jackshit. I'm also still pissed at her grandfather, what bullshit apology was that? "I let ur mom get married to a son of a bitch outsider bc we were going bankrupt, but I love her actually and I love you too. Sorry I didn't rescue you from your abusive household." That was such a half hearted bow too!!!! Dafuq!!!!!! She deserves a full bow, not a seated bow!!!! To hell with old age, you owe her your damn life old man!

And her cousin is being kinda creepy.

Also their clan rule that literally says "incest only" I'm surprised we haven't been shown any signs of inbreeding from the Usubas we've seen so far (cousin and grandpa).

Kinda annoyed at Miyo's indecisiveness, but just a little. Girlie's too traumatized to function normally. You do you babe. At least she's got the determination to learn how to control her power now and hopefully at the end she gets the determination to go back to Kudo on her own, even if she has to fo it by force.

And Kudo... I got nothing to say that his older sister hasn't already said. Hope you get back safe from the fight. No amnesia arc pls istg

deepblueoceanskies created a topic of Makai no Ossan

I honestly really enjoyed this manga. It's slice of life.... for demons. For us humans it'll count as action/fantasy no? Haha. Story-wise I don't think anything "exciting" happened much (I don't mean the fight scenes). I felt like it was cut short, like it was just cut at the part where the main characters' development were starting to change. The side characters' plot felt more 'finished', like Taberu and the Hero.

I do like how it ended tho. It was just a normal day in the Suzuki family. It also showed what I thought the whole story lacked; a show of affection between the parents. They acted like parents throughout the manga, but I was kinda sad they didn't have much scenes just as husband and wife, you know what I mean? And the last chapter showed that even though we don't see it, they really are partners in love. Yes Ossan is just doing something mundane like washing the dishes. But it's his attitude about it that makes it sweet. It's the way that he did not announce his help. He noticed his wife needed help doing chores so he did so. The wife didn't say anything, but I felt that her one eye really expressed her love for him. Or I'm delusional, whatever. XD

Hmmm..... I don't know how to express it well, but the translation doesn't feel good. I didn't notice any misspellings or whatever, it's readable, but like, it's a little better than mtl.

In any case, I'm glad it got picked up because it seems like a good story.

Even if she and the mc, her ex-manager, are at odds right now, I don't think that Eunha girl is a bad person. There's probably some misunderstandings and frustrations unsaid between them. She even warned him abt the bad guy's ploy. I find the CEO of Blue One more likely to be a villain, bc why tf would you want a thorough background check on the guy who said he's already cut off ties with Eunha, that they are walking different paths, therefore he has no interest in stealing her away? Jelous for no reason damn

That bitch better not be the female lead. He explicitly said before that he doesn't want to read fortunes, yet she keeps pushing him to do so. I'm gonna be so disappointed if she doesn't have a major character change because I can already see her abusing the mc's fortune telling powers the way her attitude currently is.

I really like supernatural stories like these. People tend to be afraid of ghosts, but ghosts were living human beings too. There was this danmei novel I read before, They All Say I Encountered a Ghost, where the MC accepts a mysterious job where he 'unknowingly' ends up around ghosts. A lot of comedy, a lot of tears (at least for me), and a splash of romance (the BL is very minimal, but I don't mind, I really like the epilogue, tho the last chap of the main story felt kinda rushed). It could be a miss for some, but it was a real hit to me. I don't wanna spoil much, but I truly felt like something inside of me changed after I read it. I found that it was written beautifully, the eng translation easy to read, and the life lessons hit hard. Like this story, Underworld Restaurant, the biggest takeaway lesson there is "Do good." Gaaaahhhh, I kinda wanna reread that story again!

Another supernatural danmei I've read had karma as the main theme, I don't remember the title atm but I also enjoyed reading it as well.

The stories of the ghosts are so touching I feel dehydrated from all the crying I did.

I am highkey concerned for the MC tho. I understand that he wants to help, but the ghosts told him to be careful and keep from interfering as much as possible (the oldest maiden ghost and the doctor ghost). The only one who kinda gave him the go-ahead was a living person, who, although he may have heard countless life stories of ghosts, still is not a ghost himself.

The MC is lucky so far he met good ghosts. Being too quick to help can be a bad thing for you too. Well, I doubt that this will happen in the story, and even if it did, someone will help him and it'll all be resolved happily.
