I think you can’t call it sex when Rian doesn’t think of it as that, and enzo himself calls it submission. Instead of even dub con it just feels like rape, bc it’s about enzo exerting his power and also being the only one that get physical and mental release from it (as compared to rian, why does feel physically simulated later on, but his mental state isn’t really described past him not seeing this as sex).

In a way it’s very true to how mafia actually are, in fact I would say it’s still tame compared to reality, so while mafia seem hot in dark romance imagination this is a truer depiction.
