I thought this story was gonna be about a girl finding her own self worth away from her toxic dad, but nope the true Protagonist was her male friend the entire time. Which is great for his character, but it really puts Dorothea between a rock and a hard place. If she becomes a good person, it plays right into Ethan’s plans and he gets all the credit for saving her. If she doesn’t become a good person, nothing changes and Dorothea never gets to develop as a character. Lose-lose situation. ( ̄へ ̄)
I’m the kind of reader who enjoys watching a powerful, possessive ML grovel. Not because the FL has authority over him or is threatening him, but because she’s ready and willing to walk away. And he realizes that if he doesn’t repent immediately, he will no longer mean anything to her.
And I have been waiting. For SO LONG. For things to get worse. For the ML to cross the line. For the FL break. Just so for this moment where his desperation overtakes his pride and he’s humbled at the feet of a woman he thought he controlled. And by god, it’s here. It’s here.
I love the dragons in this series because of how cool and reptilian they look but why does the artist insist on drawing Blue with big forward facing anime eyes??? Baby reptiles have a different cuteness from baby mammals, so drawing Blue like a puppy just makes him look ridiculous and less dragon-like.
When he said he was going to give Ariel a fall after her success, I thought it was going to be something SMART. This guy just throws money at people and calls it good? Really? ( ̄□ ̄||)
Let’s forget about Cedric having money too, but I don’t think this wastrel royal boy has the infinite funds to keep this up forever. Work smarter, not harder, my dude.
I don’t expect Astalieu to be on Firentia’s side or anything but god would it be nice if at least one of these two idiots could grow up to be a decent adult. And Astalieu isn’t outright mean, he’s the type to follow and listen to the strong without a second thought. So maybe, just maybe, he’s still young enough that he can break from Balzac and become his own person.

Usually accidental flirting is because the character is naive/oblivious, which gets annoying. But here, it’s because she’s intentionally trying to deceive everyone at first. Love me a female lead who is clearly intelligent and socially adept. And now anything she does is accidentally flirty because of ~✧repressed feelings✧~ on both sides!!!
