People dislike it so much that they say "Yeon" instead of "Yoen"
That aside, I've been one of the old readers, I remember the time when everyone felt doubful about the story, especially with the past of Yoen and Vince. The plot twist did shock me, but in the end, I didn’t feel that satisfaction. The "Yoen storyline" really was unsatisfying, but I don't hate him at all. While I did get upset over his certain actions, I feel like he genuinely deserved a happy ending too. This all felt rushed towards the end, and I feel like side stories are a good way to salvage this. The story is good with portraying grief and moving on healthily, I'll give it that. I also loved the idea that Vince went from being unable to handle lost to being someone that can live for the person he loves—one of the details that come to prove his love for our Aryka. But aside from that, I feel like we all just needed more of Vince and Aryka... like, it could have been marinated better to lead to that point, to really solidify and prove that he's not just dependent on Aryka due to the grief and guilt.

Basically, Yoen really did die years ago and at the same time, Aryka (Arrie) fell into a coma. When his soul was taken by a grim reaper, he was stubborn enough that a half part remained in his body on the human realm, while the other half became a dream watcher (which is how he became Arkya). Apparently, his soul only survived it too because Yoen's soul helped him and fused with him. This also explains why Aryka was different from pther dream watchers, being half dream watcher and half human, and this also gave way to give him a happy ending with Vince.

This was my first omegaverse which I dropped years ago after the old artist's controversy. I only picked it up now because I heard the news, like, just weeks ago or sum. Anyway, it was still a good read. And please, y'all, don't give too much shit to the new artist. I did also feel like the rest was a fever dream, but then again, I'm really just grateful that the manhwa got its end as one of the og readers from back then.

Y'all don't know how much I've been fighting for this, feeling like I was insane back then for disliking Dojin. Seeing Hyesung like this reminds me of how he was still barely an adult when he had Byul, coming from a traumatizing household too. Only cried in this story because of him, I swear, it felt like such a redemption. It's good to see that he's also really loved by his kids, though I just hope Byul would stop pushing it. Besides, we want the reaction to the two alpha boyfriends, y'all!

I thought I could prepare myself for the rushed ending since I only wanted to pass time but I'm more unsettled than expected. So many unanswered questions... I really loved the characters too but they just left it at that:((
The misunderstanding isn't even as bad as the ones in other manhwas. While Niel did frustrate me, and I did call him a dumb gay (affectionately, albeit frustrated) multiple times, these are the kinds of insecurities that the people of the LGBTQ community have to go through—that realistic portrayal made this even more beautiful. It's odd that people are more understanding of Eugene than they are with Niel, and that's coming from me, Eugene's simp since a few years ago. I personally liked that Niel's overthinking reminded me of myself. I feel like Jensen, god bless his patience, did get the apology and acknowledgement he deserved in the end. I think Niel redeemed himself enough during their conversation. And besides, although dictating someone else's emotions is never a good thing, telling Jensen to be sure of himself first could have been a good move, if only Niel had managed to communicate it better without saying all the other stuff stemming from his trauma. Jensen could recognize that Niel was only afraid, so why couldn't you all?
Anyway, years later, and this is still one of the top-tier manhwas for me. I usually forget stories, but just seeing certain panels makes it all come back to me. Also, hear me out—Jimmy, Chrissa, Ben, and Ryan as characters in their own manhwa, grown up version... I feel like they would be a nice friend group lmao.

This makes me so curious to re-read this. I read it in 2020 and despite loving Jensen I was so incredibly irritated with Niel that I just couldn't say I loved this. I was only left with irritation and I don't remember anything but disliking him lmao but I'm just curious if maybe I was a bit immature when I read it because your take seems a lot like something I'd write now, and I wonder if I would view him differently lol
