I think she genuenily loves Jinhyeong and wants to help him, that's why at the begining she was sending him money and trying to call, but she's very weak minded and gets manipulated by father's wishes and ways of thinking she ends up being an abuser too on her own way.
I think the "I want to do everything he says so he loves me" attitude that Jinhyeong has is directly inherited from his mother
