the idea of true love and someone that loves you through thick n thin is just so, so, intoxicating. this manhwa is like my wildest fantasies and not even in a "id like to be rich and famous and hot" way, but just. being happy and fufilled. knowing that i am loved. being free from stereotypes. knowing that my future's going to be great, because i have things to look forward to.
i always project myself onto the characters in yaois i read, but it's always more for the sexual situation rather than the Life itself. often, i specifically avoid shounen-ai's because i really can't be bothered to get caught up in all the unrealistic drama and get invested in a character's life. but this one is different; on the outside, yeah it's fluffy and has minimal unnecessary drama, sure, but i think it truly just reflects a life i (and i'm sure most readers would agree) would kill to have. it just makes me so happy to see star & fanboy support eachother and continue to fall in love.
because life is, obviously, not that easy. people are crueler. love doesn't last. corruption is so common and hard to avoid. a life like this... even just a single aspect of it.... would be a dream come true. i'm about to go into college, pursuing a major that i am not too interested in, completely inexperienced with love & affection. fanboy shared some of these characteristics– but still... he found true happiness. his attributes, which some might consider negative (introverted, overly obsessed with a celebrity, interested in something that 99% of people will never achieve), still, somehow... worked out.
i assume cheomji finished it off with the implication that star & fanboy are going to be together forever. and their careers are only going to get better. they looked at each other and only found love. what a rare, wonderful opportunity.
this manhwa just... breaks my heart. in a GOOD way! it makes me want to write fanfics about them.... but it depresses me because i know i will never be this happy. with no care in the world.... it makes me sad because they have moved on, but i haven't.... i can no longer project myself upon them and imagine a future where everything is golden, because it's never going to be.
but on the other side, i feel so happy that even these fictional characters get to live a happy life. even in most yaois, there's still a fucked up society out there and also the characters are usually fucked up too.
this is off topic, but a content creator i really looked up to just did.. really shitty stuff. and it makes ya think. life just is never going to be perfect. no matter what, even if you somehow get your dream job or find the love of ur life, there will be so much heartbreak, so many times where you wonder , is it all worth it?
BUT STAR AND FANBOY ARE HAPPY!!! i am so jealous! obviously their future doesnt literally exist lmao, so its more like a schrodinger's cat thing, but i mean its pretty clear nothing's going to shake their lives up too bad. and oh , what i would give knowing that tomorrow is going to be wonderful....
perhaps this is just a restatement of what i said above. but this isn't so much me being depressed at my own existence; rather, it's me being grateful that these fictional characters are so happy.

author is lucky they used characters that are, like, EXACTLY my type. serious & experienced master vs a cute & inexperienced pet who knows, deep down, that they’re into some smutty shit? FUCK yeah.
that being said, the plot is... a little funky. i think it’s all a little creepy— like one of those weird sexual chats on omegle. i’m not sure how the author can fix the funky plot this far into the story, but i hope that they are aware BDSM can still be sweet, and not in a “omg he protected me from being seen by some rando street guy” but more in a genuine love-filled way.
also, side note, this is just personal preferences but why do these “master x pet” stories only feature like, 3 sex scenes with this actual relationship??（/TДT)/ this type of BDSM is my guilty pleasure and it brings me such sorrow that it’s only really used as an example of the “before-love” relationship, then once the seme + uke become more of an actual couple, they ditch the BDSM completely. :( give me some happy couple BDSM rn please

I actually really enjoy their dynamic because there is power exchange and the play is very sexy but at the same time really cute. And the cuteness is not something that is typically associated with BDSM (I mean in manga/manhua/comics) - it's usually portrayed as more of a brutal and distant sex.
If they continue they pet play path I think this manhua has a great chance to give us the best sex scenes ever - filled with love and consensual BDSM fun.
(I say sex scenes because the whole story, as you said earlier, is a bit weird xD).
i've, literally, NEVER seen a lovey-dovey BDSM yaoi. like you said, every yaoi ive read that includes BDSM is always rough, usually used as an example of how the seme's starts off as a bad person. the uke is almost always in the place of "omg no i hate this let me go!!!" then ends up like "omg why am i feeling so good". i swear, every BDSM sex scene ive ever seen in yaoi is ALWAYS the seme basically taking advantage of the uke ┗( T﹏T )┛
even in this one, the seme was, kinda, taking advantage of the uke. even though puppy was deep-down into it, the seme was aware that puppy was very very innocent and inexperienced, but took him into an environment that would be scary for even an experienced pet. i think the author kinda tried to, like, damper how shitty the seme was for doing that by making the uke a deep-down slut, but it was still shitty nonetheless. the car scene was, definitely, more "lovey" than the literally-outside-in-public scene, but wasn't really BDSM... although puppy's voyeurism kink was definitely cute too ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
unfortunately, knowing that it's over now, this manhwa has fallen to the common trope that often occurs in BDSM yaoi.... the BDSM virtually disappeared once they became a "real" couple...
If you would like to see a manhwa that doesn't leave the BDSM after they become the couple and the BDSM is portrayed more... Accurately? (Not 100% but like hundred levels better then usual) I recommend From Points of Three.
The story is really fucked up, as usual, but sex was actually really nice. The seme is in a way taking advantage of an uke but uke (actually 2 ukes because to some point of a story it's a threesome) is willingly participating and doesn't do the famous "omg I hate this".
As I said the story is fucked up and has one of mY FaVoUrItE tropes "I kind of arranged everything so you would fall in my trap", but it is somehow different than usually so it was fun to read.
The best sex scenes are in the epilogue when the relationships are finally established properly and there is lovely-dovely sex and BDSM sex.
so i completely agree with the fact that joowon shouldn't be pitied. he's a self-entitled asshole and completely takes haesoo for granted.
however, i don't think haesoo is deserving of so much pity either, at least not yet.
like joowon said: "this is how we've always been." although this can definitely be an indicator of joowon's carelessness and ignorance when it comes to how he treats haesoo, i think it also means exactly what it says: joowon was slightly unaware. he may have known that he wasn't treating haesoo the way one should in a normal relationship; however, they weren't in a normal relationship. plus, haesoo had genuinely shown signs of enjoying their fucked up relationship in the past.
so i say: good on haesoo for finally realizing what he wants in a guy! and realizing that his relationship with joowon is NOT his only option and that there are better things out there.
and if joowon continues to attempt to dominate and control haesoo, THEN joowon is TRULY, 100% in the wrong. and haesoo deserves the pity. however, right now, i don't think its completely fair to say joowon is the only bad guy here.

I think some people that pity haesoo have read the raw chapters or saw the summary on ig. I am one of those and that's a big reason why I side with haesoo so heavy.

True. I've started pitying him ever since I read the raw scan of this chapter. Like, that's really effed up and bordering on sexual assault.
it's , like , ok, so the ending wasn't like WILD or SUPER TWISTED... but i'm satisfied enough. woo died, bum is suffering.... although the ending wasn't as exciting as it could have been, i feel as if it's just nice to FINALLY have closure and an end to what was a truly twisted and painful mess of a story to read (not that the story itself was badly written, just that it was a //mess// ykno).
just knowing that this story, which marked the general beginning of my bl manhwa days almost 2 years ago and existed ever since... just knowing that it's finally over is such a relief. i went through SO many emotions with this manhwa, both reacting to the actual plot and then how the manhwa itself was written, that it's almost hard to comprehend it being over at all.
what i'm trying to say is that i dont think ANY ending could create a 100% satisfying end to this manhwa. it's been built up for too long, twists building on twists- no end could give us the emotional release that we desire.
and, at the end of the day, i'm just glad that i could go on this journey w these 2 fucked up boys.... i'm just glad i got 2 finally see it end. :')

alright see- i'm good w ALL the relationships in this because everyone's toxic and aware that they're toxic. a self aware fucked up person having a fucked up relationship with another self aware fucked up person is the best kind of relationship (for these types of stories) because everyone knows what's going on and how they're fucking up their own and each other's relationship, and everyone's accepted it and are (generally) okay with it.
in something like killing stalking, bum is a naive cunt (NOT saying he's innocent or good cause he's definitely not lmao) and therefore bum + woo's relationship is gross and not good. in something like color recipe, one guy is clearly not into it so it's also a very bad relationship.
but in love or hate, both the mc AND the redhead (im sorry im...not good w names) are aware that they are fucked up humans and are in a fucked up + toxic relationship, AND even K is aware of how fucked up mc is and is okay with it, too. so it's all good (not GOOD good...u know what i mean)!!
for these types of stories (fucked up, toxic relationships all around) this is the best kind of story because!! everything is CONSENSUAL (for the MOST part), and no one's gonna get surprised w the bad outcome because everyone's already aware that things are fucked up.

i'm still thinking abt this and i'd like to clarify- what i'm trying to say is it's good that no one's being taken advantage of. none of the characters are the "innocent" ones or can be pitied because of a certain personality trait or dramatic irony, because they're all completely aware of how fucked up everything is, and, for the most part, are making practically no moves to change it. even the mc, who's a bottom (and usually bottoms get the worst outcome in toxic relationships or are made (physically and emotionally) to be pitied more) is a toxic bitch!! and so is everyone else!! :-)
