I'm confused because in chapter 1 they're already dating. Am I missing something?
Yes, this is a story about an established couple. Its just that in the following pages/chapters it shows a flashback on how they become a couple

Wow... The think the man who indirectly ruined your life, came back only to make a mess of things again by meddling in something he started years ago.
This story telling is incredible. My hope is that he actually makes things right and helps Pyeonghwa heal from his trauma.
Poor Pyeonghwa. He's so traumatized that he's reliving that trauma every day, and going blind.
Could you explain exactly what happened found it a lil confusing
So Incheon was tasked, many years before, to get Pyeonghwa's family stamp to, I'm guessing sign over property for the first demolition project many years ago. My guess is that in order for the property of the gym to be "safe" for the future, they also signed the gym away to Pyeonghwa in the process so they can "retrieve it later." (Don't quote me on this... It's my guess.)
Anyway, so PH's mom had a very weak constitution, and SOMETHING happened when Incheon showed up, that the mother fainted and later died in hospital after Incheon showed up in the flashback. (I'm not sure when Pyeonghwa's father died. It never said, but the idea is that Pyeonghwa became an orphan soon after.)
The assembly lady questioned that Incheon may have done something to kill the lady, but Incheon denied it. (we don't know if he did do something.)
In the process of PH's mom dying, the assembly woman who was a previous Mayor, was doing community service and gained a lot of popularity for her and her team, "caring and worrying for the citizens" when asking about PH's mom. Incheon also gained promotion from it, and even when he wanted to go to the funeral, ended up not going for some reason. (Thus he had no idea of Pyeonghwa's identity.) (My guess is he was gaslite by the assembly woman I feeling responsible for the death of Pyeonghwa's mom, so that's why he didn't go.)
Anyway, so PH ended up an orphan and a police officer who lived next door(?), became his guardian. That police officer was a pedophile and continously sexually abused and beat up PH.
And now as an adult, that police officer isn't interested in PH because he's no longer a kid, and moved out and got married. That's why that place has been vacant for so long. (that police officer is a sick motherfucker!) However, now, PH picks men that look like him(?) I think... and yeah... PH is very traumatized, and he doesn't even know it. I'm guessing it fucked him up psychologically that having sex while being physically beaten is his way of coping with the trauma. That's why he doesn't want to sell the place because it's like he's self harming himself to self "medicate" using it as "therapy" to deal with his trauma. It's kind of like a Stockholm syndrome. (Even the song he was listening to was is by The Muse called Stockholm Syndrome.)
The whole idea is that the assembly lady knew that that kid that ended up an orphan is none other than PH. So sending Incheon to convince PH to sell the gym, is the assembly lady's fucked up way to basically have Incheon "finish the job/what he started." Its fucked up.
The adults failed PH, and now he's suffering from potential permanent damage, such as his eye sight, because he was failed as a child.
It's the idea that people in power, like a police officer, are never questioned because they're an "outstanding citizen" and would "never do that" even though in reality, they're child abusers.
But don't quote me on the details of the whole politics. I may be wrong on that. But the idea is that Incheon was indirectly at fault for Pyeonghwa to be continuously raped and beaten as a kid and being traumatized, and now is being coerced by his boss to take away the gym from Pyeonghwa.

Pyeonghwa's parents owned the building, more specifically his dad. That is why Incheon needed his stamp, but the police guy used his title and eventual high ranking to give Pyeonghwa ownership.

this story is amazing really, 1st season is PEAK which i guess led easily to 5stars from everyone. the cliffhanger for this 2nd season and the following chapters are taking an inexpected dark turn with manly one character that is a piece of shit and i think people are disappointed/triggered by the unnecessary drama/rapey situation. Don't think this story has gotten bad or something, just gotta let it marinate to have this arc over. as you might have noticed in the comments, the reactions are intense hahaha love this story! Let's see, as i said it needs marinating for the most weakhearted ones hahaha
