Like I get Tai give his brother luck or something? But people treat it almost supernaturally while at the same time treating Tai as less than.
Honestly, it’s a really interesting concept I wish would put more focus on. Or explained better. Or I’m dumb and it’s easy to understand
I think its just superstition. The idea is that Tae is not special at all, just a normal kid. Whereas Jaeui is a genius/prodigy. That's why there's a difference in treatment. Jaeui himself realise Tae is his lucky charm when as kids whenever Tae is sick, Jaeui will be sick. But when Jaeui is sick, Tae doesn't get sick. Also, whenever Tae feels sth is amiss or missing his brother, something bad WILL happen to Jaeui but as long as Tae is fine, Jaeui will come out of it fine. And I guess too many coincidences become "True". Also, Asian businessmen or upper class people are very superstitious. When enough people believe in it, it becomes a "fact", especially since Jaeui, a genius, believes in this. Basically if Tae died, Jaeui dies, but if Jaeui dies Tae will stay alive.
I love Passion btw but this is my main criticism of the story (novel ) . Actually the whole thing of his luck is a supernatural phenomenon, but sadly it’s not explore enough for my liking . We know is there and what it does but that’s it . However it’s one of the main reason why Tay and Ilay fit so well like it was ment to be . Ilay is the other character that because of his unnatural and inhuman nature fit that concept as well . Tay wanted an easy going life but that was never possible for him . He needed someone who will always be willing to put his life on the line for him and not die easily
Honestly, I’m just reading this to get the satisfaction of seeing them all die horribly by Ray's hands.
I’ve read the novel and the side stories. I’ve universally decided that it ended with Ray killing George in the wood and peacing out to live a happy life and healed life.
Spoilers——-
Not exactly. But he kills the main two aresholes who stared it all.
First: he burns the dorm down (after drugging them and trying Hugh up) only Hugh dies but Ray thinks they’re all dead.
Second: years later, he’s caught by the surviving three and hunted. George is killed. Ray leaves the other two. This is where I chose to have the story end for me. The rest gets real convoluted.
But to continue:
Third: Simon dies after being pushed off a cliff(?) I think but it was Jerome’s fault. Ray and them come back to the school as a throuple.
Ray and Jerome live together in trauma.
Hugh. His first pet was George (or maybe Jerome, he was given to Hugh’s family as a child) George and Hugh fell in love and began getting pets together. Simon was one of them. Jerome and Simon were just the ones who were twisted enough to join in. Call it a survival tactic but these guys are the first and only victims I’ll blame. All four of them are terrible and needed to die.
I need a good revenge story. Like “I spit on your grave.” Or something like that.
Sure, they were the antagonists to our Luffy so it was natural for us to hate them, they were the opposers to the MC’s freedom. But in the beginning that’s all they were.
Setting aside the “all government agencies are corrupt trope ingrained into us so we’re suspicious of them from the get go”, at what point did you realise the WG were lead soulless monsters?
It’s not even about their “bottom line” to fight the pirates. These guys are truly sadistic.
I think from the alabasta arc honestly. it was truly like genuinely WHY haven't they done anything till now? it felt like they literally let that shit slide. or romance dawn with buggy. like since baroque works I knew there was sum fishiness up, when they pick and choose which people to cast aside and allow to run the world rampant.
Yeah, for me, even then I was thinking, “oh they just don’t care” or they’re following higher up orders (and a lot are just following orders) When the CD came in, they were just spoilt brats. The five elders really cemented it for me. They didn’t just “not care” they thought less of humans, believe them to be scum.
definitely water 7 and enies lobby arcs -- with such a big plot twist of CP9 trying to murder a good man for simply having too much influence and then the backstory of robin and how the WG is just hiding war crimes (lost 100 years or whatever it's called) and killing off anyone who asks questions -- how could you not question the WG for putting such a large bounty on a child for simply existing

Hey, random question, does anyone know if DesireScans is a licensed website? Because they are asking for money and I thought Lezhin was the only official site for this story.
I know it’s odd talking about stealing on this site of all things but you don’t pay for it. If I am going to pay, I want it to go to the author.
No they're for-proft and doesn't go to the author. Same with the other scanlation teams that have things that say like "access advanced chapter on website." And pretty sure they use AI to translate
Yeah, I signed up to check it out because my brain wasn’t going to let it go. It’s Ai translated. Absolutely garbage.
