9.2 is a decent rating, but this should definitely be rated higher. Such a good read. I don’t see how anyone could dislike this one. I would love to explain the story for everyone to understand, but no one on here has the attention span or patience to read the long comments lol
I think people, like me, read the crappy translation first. Also based on what I glanced at the novel, this manhwa skipped a ton of early world building and character bonding. To us, it looks like MC is protective of those other people just cuz they were near him, or something? But na, in the novel they actually went on adventures and stuff before MC was discovered by the grand duke :/
No wonder i felt that the pacing was weird.Actually they do it all the time in manhwas so at this point for adaptations that are really good i just end up reading the novels.I Think i’ll check the reviews and go for the novel for this one too.
Yea, I noticed a lot of people definitely read the bad translation first. I always check if there’s two or more duplicate chapters, and always pick the most recent uploads because those chapters are usually the better translation. And I didn’t know they skipped so much! I just assumed they bonded over the fact that they all got sucked into a game. And it was pretty implied in the first two chapters that they decided to stay in that village together and were doing well until they all got captured. So I assumed they bonded while laying low in that village. Which is enough time to be protective over each other. Especially because they’re from the real world and is now surrounded by NPCs that are no longer NPCs. That would make anyone bond quickly
I read the awful translation first and wanted to gouge my eyes out. Then I realized there was a good translation and was lowkey pissed lol. But I quickly forgot about it because holy shit, was it a whole different manhwa when written nicely. Went from a 4/10 to a 9/10 at least
Do know, the novel hasn't been translated yet. If you wanna read it, got to go on booktoki (the novel version of newtoki, where you can find the Korean novels online. Newtoki is comics.) Korea is very strict on its copyright infringement so it's harder to find online novels without paywals when compared to Chinese series. Someone posted the link earlier
Legit bruh, if south korea wasn't so restrictive with their apps for 18+ content, i would be spending my money on to buy their shit. Other than that, it's still hard to get through their weird verification process

Even when some of these works get "imported" to the west, aka english serialization, it's one of those websites that have their currency and the exchange rate set to be so expensive or it doesn't even benefit the author.
Is the mtl understandable? Do you think, there'll be crucial nuances that are lost in translation?
Mtl is readable, but nuances are certainly lost. When reading mtl, it's nice to have the mindset of understanding the gist of the story rather than everything in the story. It's like skimming a textbook. If you think too deeply you'll get a headache. Also good to know basic mtl errors. Mtl often confuses "he" and "she" because Asian languages don't clarify gender often. If a really out of place sentence appears, chances are there was a Korean idiom that Google tried to translate literally. And sometimes a sentence will say something is not, when it really is. IE. This thing didn't happen, but then later in the story based on events you realize it did happen, and the "didn't" was a translation error. Also sometimes they'll translate the name literally too. So you kinda start to realize what the literal translation of the name is. I mostly mtl Chinese series not Korean, but they are pretty close in language. Like I said, you should be good if your goal is to understand the gist of the story.
Oh darn, hahaha guess I'll have to wait out the manwha / pray for a novel translation then.

I just reread the chapters! I think the secretary was referring to his own son (Shouta's cousin) as 5 years old Maybe it's a mistranslation but Shouta is definitely less than 5 because the 5 year old is Eiko and the Secretary's son. I hope this helps!
