By the way the novel is still ongoing with currently 1232 chapters as of me publishing this post.
Yes, we are nowhere near catching up to the novel so I suggest anyone who love this comic to read the novel because there’s so much more to come and the author is extremely good at what they do.
For context, ORV is a completed novel with 551 chapters and the comic has only reached the halfway point of the novel a few months ago. If anyone has realized, both the ORV and TCF comics started the same year with ORV being May of 2020 and TCF being September of 2020. Yes, it’s been 5 years guys, I’m old and I spent my time reading both series throughout college and I have already graduated and joined the working class of society. I truly can’t fathom how long it’ll take for the TCF comic to be completed, but for the ORV comic I think it’ll definitely finish around or before its 10th anniversary lol.
Holy sheet. I should’ve let ORV manhwa marinate then, I’m on 250 or something chapter in comic, well no, I’m on the latest chapter but forgot. What would the chapter be in novel?
I actually finished reading the novel way back, but I forgot a lot, however that excitement and enthusiasm of reading ORV never died.
TCF is 1.2k chapters? For real? Um…the longest novel I’ve read is probably 700 or 800 chapters.
Despite its length, the author always makes things make sense even connecting back to details of chapters from ages ago so there’s never an unnecessary chapter!
For ORV comic, it has never taken a break so the comic pace is actually on the faster side. However, TCF has had long breaks (which is normal) between each season so TCF will take much longer and it’s harder to predict when it’ll actually be completed in comparison to ORV assuming it continues to not take a single break.
The translations makes things very confusing, only till chapter 18 was I finally able to confirm the previous translations of referring Mehen with female pronouns was incorrect when Mehen asks the MC why he is called mother instead of father.
Just putting this out there for anyone who was just as confused as me lol.
MC immediately assumed “dropped out because of bullying” meant his team member dropped out because he was a bully rather than the possibility of dropping out because he’s a victim and didn’t want to deal with the bullying anymore.
I get that it’s because it’s coming from a quote on quote reliable source but the fact that the idea of his teammate possibly being the victim didn’t even come to mind when he himself knows that his teammate is awfully nice. Maybe it’s a translation misinterpretation or I guess MC is just that cynical and ain’t used to seeing the good in people due to the nature of his past job.
That’s one hell of a misinterpretation, I wonder why the translator assumed that is what MC genuinely thought and didn’t even try to at least consider other translation possibilities when MC starts talking about how much of a saint his teammate is.
I just hope that other readers wouldn’t misunderstand like I did because it sure confused the heck out of me and made me feel conflicted about the MC for a good second _(:3 」∠)_.
Technically there is not that much of a "mistranslation" but rather a wrong vibe interpretation and a missing sentence in the webtoon itself (I am assuming to create suspense?).
The novel pretty much says the same things as the webtoon. You can check chapter 41 for yourself.
Basically Hoyoon says that he doesn't believe Sanghyun would be a bully, which is correctly said in the webtoon twice: "I can't picture that. He is not the type..." and "a shit personality. That honestly makes no sense".
Then the missing sentence in the novel is: "even if sanghyun was wronged people would only believe the story [that he is a bully] and there would be no way back"
And then I. The novel he decides to ask sanghyun about his highschool days to get the picture to be able to battle the controversy. Which in the webtoon is drawn rather aggressively in my opinion BUT in the novel it is much more light-hearted, it's calculated question but it's said casually and Sanghyun momentarily freezes a bit but immediately continues answering Hoyoon and then they end the conversation. (This will likely be shown in the next webtoon chapter)
So no, it's not a translator's fault in my opinion. It's a deliberate choice of the webtoon production to create suspense
I was glad to help. <3 And yes, I feel like this is this story's charm - to make the reader confused about Hoyoon's character. Everything that points to his good character in this chapter is either written in small letters on the side or omitted (like the sentence I shared). It surely must be deliberately done to make us question him.
And even in the novel Hoyoon is kind of balancing between being a calculative bast**d and being caring in secret. He is not a saint though, he has flaws, and he grows as a character. I myself have gotten tricked in a later arcs whether he is or isn't a good person. So this will probably not be the only instance of this.
I am sure you won't have any troubles moving forward but feel free to ask me for comparisons with the novel any time! I love this work so much that I don't mind re-reading it over and over.
That’s not true. This is just the MC personality he goes on evidences I am reading the novel. He will suspect him until he see proof that he really was not involved in any bullying even tho deep down he knows that his teammate is too nice to be a bully. He is going to do the same for everyone btw so beware. This is just how the MC was written, he only believes what he sees. If you find this annoying then you will get annoyed a lot in the upcoming plots lol.
I think, in my opinion since he had work with idols and showbiz, it's understandable that he will doubt since he knew how two Faced some people in the entertainment industry especially with how he used to be a pd.
It's annoying and frustrating when he doubt yes but from his perspective and his experience, we can understand where he stand on.
Not that I like how he thinks but his a very logic over emotion type of person so I can understand what he mean and what he is aiming for.
Judging from what I’ve seen so far I think he assumed the rumor meant that he bullied someone because that would be worse than getting bullied. And I think he assumes that people want to paint them in the worst light. So not because he thinks he’d do it but because he automatically assumes the worst in terms of what someone would accuse them of.
I hate this arc lmao, it makes no sense but I guess it’s to make the family to realize that they clearly don’t have full on authority over the maids and that they need to get their shit together and set proper hierarchy because these maids clearly are quite dumb to not catch the hint that maybe messing with the MC means that their lives are over.
In korean raws, a comment spoiled saying that it took MC to almost die to finally have the family punish those who bullied MC. Like damn, it had to be till the edge of the cliff for this girl to have a better life.
Basically the eldest son Lucio comes home and there’s a family dinner with MC invited ofc. For some goddamn reason, the maids saw that the masters of the house clearly cherished the MC yet they still decided to ploy against MC by taking advantage of the fact that MC isn’t as close and affectionate with the eldest son who just came back. They tell MC to manage the library the eldest son frequents even though she’s actually not supposed to be there in general. Thankfully, the eldest son was not offended by MC’s presence in the library and even planned on bringing food. Then one day, the maids crossed the line and touched MC’s belongings which caused MC to enter mana overload and almost died from it. So now that MC is suffering big time, the family finally realized how neglectful they had been towards household affairs and know nothing about their own servants. The family ends up getting their shit together by punishing/kicking out the maids and the head maid was strictly punished.
After reading this spoiler, I have decided to take a break from this comic and let things marinate because having to patiently wait on a weekly basis seeing this arc and having the character turning from a cool hero to a damsel in distress is frustrating. That’s just my opinion but let’s be for real this arc’s plot just makes no fucking sense…
The beginning:
Wow! MC was able to leave his toxic family and go through a healing process with a decent husband who is somewhat suspicious with their amount of knowledge regarding the MC but still caring, everything feels so nice. Love that for the MC!
Season 1 and 2:
Wow, the husband might be a regressor? Well I guess that’s how he knows his stuff about MC. So ML knows what went wrong in their past life so he’s trying to fix it right? Idk what specifically happened since it’s only bits and pieces but if this world had a god, he sure chose the wrong guy for the job because ML clearly doesn’t know how to help an emotionally hurt human being. But still, our MC is a strong boy and he’s doing his best, I’m so proud of him!
Last few chapters of season 2:
Wow, the fuck?????? Bro ML needs to up his game but also get his priorities straight. It doesn’t feel like he actually cares about MC’s happiness but more so his guilt that ended to MC’s miserable life in the past life. Like he’s just taking care of MC at season 1 and 2 because he did something shitty to MC. I don’t know specifics but some spoilers say their last life was awful.
Last chapter of Season 2:
Wow, they do be having sex, not that I’d understand but if it makes them feel better by getting their frustrations out about each other through sex… huh? THAT’S HOW MC IS GOING TO GET HIS PAST LIFE MEMORIES???? IN THE MIDDLE OF FUCKING?????
Beginning of season 3:
Wow, I was not ready for this. I don’t know how long this flashback arc is going go be and I actually can’t bear to see how fucking miserable MC’s life was because some spoilers said he got raped by both ML and ML’s brother…
Also just a few chapters in to season 3, ML was kinda shitty huh. Guess he did try to improve himself in the new life but since he was super shitty before, now he’s still shitty but to a lesser degree with how his shit decision making regarding MC.
You know what, I’m going to temporarily take a break from this comic and wait till this flashback segment is all over so that I’m able to skip the scenes that are more painful to read through.
Actually I’ll wait till the end of season 3 because ideally the flashback will finish before the end of season 3… even though the ML is pretty shitty I want to see how things end because I like the MC a lot and I need to see him have a happy ending!!!!!
Thanks for reading my ted talk.
Chapter 33! Guys when the comic comes back you just have to be patient for another 3 chapters!
And now I will now enter slight rant territory:
(Btw my Korean is not the best so there may be some inaccuracies to how I feel about the currently ongoing second season but I feel like it’s still somewhat justified thanks to the sentiments of the Korean comments.)
It’s great that they get together right at the beginning of season 2, but I won’t lie I still feel frustrated towards the MC reading season 2. Season 2 is not complete yet so things may change and there is plenty of 18+ scenes, so take my words with a grain of salt. And since it’s mostly MC’s perspective, I get why MC acts the way he does but goddamn the saving grace of this relationship is ML and the only good part about the relationship is the ML.
Even though they officially became a couple with much deliberation from the MC at the beginning of season 2, MC still ends up saying things that is hurtful to both the MC themselves and the ML because of his fears. MC is trying to change but honestly if it wasn’t for ML god level patience and understanding of MC’s character, this relationship probably wouldn’t have lasted. At some point when ML’s friends probes on the topic of romantic relationships, MC suddenly says that ML is meeting a girl and that confuses the fuck out of the friends because ML already came out as gay. Like bro, your man already came out and now you are trying to say he’s not what he says he is in front of his friends who have already wholly accepted his sexuality??? Like the Ml already reassured you that at least with these two specific friends it would be okay. When I saw that scene I literally thought: no matter how much you feared exposure of your relationship isn’t that too much? But I think this is probably a common response living in a conservative society, and ML being the patient and understanding guy that he is wasn’t offended and they ended the chapter with the two of them secretly holding hands. At least afterwards they do communicate and have sex so that’s fine and all but goddamn if it was your typical person and not the saint like ML this relationship would’ve ended with a fight.
MC isn’t a bad character since a lot of his fears is understandable in a conservative society like South Korea, but maybe because I don’t have saint like patience like ML, I sometimes feel like ML kind of deserved better than having to constantly wait for MC only to hear hurtful things MC says out of fear in a public setting. And obviously they are end game so I just hope that after the newer raw chapters come out we’d be able to see the MC doing more of the work for once when he becomes less scared, but I guess that’s only going to happen after ML puts in a tremendous amount of effort first to reassure MC…
Currently the most recent update is chapter 43 and there’s a new plot obstacle coming up with a bit of an LDR. Naturally things will change and apparently the novel was good albeit cutting a few details, so I shall be patient, and hope that later on in the relationship ML won’t have to work too hard anymore for their relationship to work out.
The ML is really patient and love that for him. Personally I don't like MC that much coz I also don't have the same patience as ML have and I've been out since I was a kid and grew up fine (Obviously there's bullying here and there but it's not so hard that I've lived a bad life, I'm lucky) and I think MC just have to open himself even if it's slow and not keep pushing away ML like bruhhhh ML isn't gonna do everything for you if you wanna be in a relationship especially in public
From what I can see, during season 2, MC can be very communicative but only in private settings when it’s just the two of them, so that’s why I’d still give him some credit, but then again he wouldn’t have the courage to do so if it hadn’t been for ML. MC’s lucky af he had strucked for a golden boy.
I just hope that we won’t have to wait for too long for MC to get his shit together and be the more active one in the relationship and stop making ML going through this insane patience is virtue test _(:3 」∠)_.
I genuinely thought the eggs would come out of the butthole because my mom would always tell me to wash the eggs properly since it came out of the chicken’s butt, so all this time I’ve been imagining eggs as chicken poop.
But maybe that’s just my lack of animal biology knowledge and also it is a male human with chicken traits and a female reproductive organs so why do I bother thinking about this lmao(´-`).。oO.
My pea brain will interpret this new information and correlate it with omega verse bl. Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen a comic that actually shows how omega males give birth, maybe that’s why I find this comic fascinating even though it’s freaky af ( ´Д`).
Actually omega males can just get C section, but I never see the C section scars ever on the omega characters either so maybe they had to poop the baby out… man the way fiction makes my head actually think about things lmao-
No hate to the author but it’s pretty obvious the author never met anyone from the states and or didn’t bother to do the bare minimum research of Asian Americans plus the west coast rap scene as a whole. It’s probably created by a Korean for the Koreans who probably never bothered to learn about other cultures so they take this comic at face value.
But then again there has always been a huge online debate about the culture appropriation of Hip Hop culture in Korea and the lack of respect/acknowledgement of Hip Hop’s cultural influence. So I can’t blame how surface level everything is about this arc lol. I mean none of us (English/International readers) here are the target audience so I’m just going to at least vent on how this arc makes me feel to the internet _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):.
I just don’t think it’s that difficult to do research nowadays with how much information is out there on the internet. I’m not black but I was able to properly learn about the history of the hip hop scene because there are many black American YouTubers who put out educational content explaining everything (especially after the whole Kendrick vs Drake situation lmao). It’s really not that hard to google things ( ̄^ ̄).

The blond girl ML is talking about is actually FL but neither of them realize this yet because of specific reasons (it is a fantasy world so it makes sense later on in terms of the fantastical nature of it all). I’m not going to spoil anything else, but hope this fact will at least make some people feel a bit more reassured about this narrative conflict of ML having “feelings” for 2 people when in fact they have been the same person this whole time.
