Honestly I experienced this with a Caribbean father. So I wouldn’t say it’s just an American thing but I don think it might happen more often here due to a lack of stigma. Like in other culture when people hear a parent did that they think less of them. That’s one of the reasons my father lied to my family saying I simply moved out. While on ...... reply
