I think I have somewhat of a different take than others from what I’ve read. I don’t hate Glenn as much as other people do. What I do hate is glenn creating an SA porno in the name of art. There’s no way a rape scene can be portrayed as art when it’s a porno that people get off to, and tbh it’s rare/not possible to portray rape as art. I found this disgusting.
But I honestly liked the concept of his regular adult films, with the interviews in the beginning especially, and the idea of angles and colors.
Another thing, Glenn knows what happens to porn stars in society, and porn stars also should know the consequences of going into that industry. It’s not like Glenn was pressuring his actors tbh. He had a structure in which he said masturbation came first, then actor tops, then actor bottoms, but the actor has to agree in the first place.
However, he got into a relationship with Ed yet he still wanted Ed in his films when he knew what would happen if everyone found out, and how he would he shunned and isolated. That was shitty of him. I think that’s what Ed realized and why that was a major reason he was angry at Glenn, and for that he has every reason to be angry, but I feel like as an adult himself he should’ve known the consequences as well.
Also the fact that Ed as a millionaire wouldn’t understand what it’s like to be a horrible financial situation, he kind of lived in his own perfect make believe world.
On principle I don’t like Ed for the fact he makes money on mostly people who are poor and see no other options.
Overall this was a pretty realistic story about when ur in a horrible financial situation (bc of society) and you’re left with very limited options (bc of society) to survive, and then you’re fucked over (by society)
