well artist/author is not forbidden to do other genres. the artist of kiss me if you can, pure intention and the author of red thread quest is also a hetero manhwa author/artist before. and i think we will get more in the future since i know some of them often draw bl characters or had bl oc. im rooting for suol-nim (the artist of villains are destined to die) to do the same because she had bl oc and had another acc for her to post her bl oc, since vadtd is already ended (only side story remains) so maybe i can manifest a little lol

See, I think this is because shoujo and straight genre is a more accepting genre. Like, people still think BL is just porn and treat BL works/authors as jokes. I think it's neat these writers found a way to be succesful in the manwha community and eventually transition to making BL. They can leverage past succesful works that they're competent writers/artists and that their BL works are just as going to be good.
