I've never hated any characters like I hated Taekyung before. What a fucking hypocrite he is.
I've always been the type who tries to understand every characters fown to their bone before forming an opinion on them. Even with characters that with atrocious personality, intentions and nature, I'm always the one to at the very least know how play devil advocate. But reading this story, especially the by the end of the ss1 and the whole first to middle part of ss2, really make me want to jump into the manhwa itself and slap the fuck out of Taekyung. The more I read, the more I understand Hee-seo and Taekyung. And that's how I came to despise Taekyung's hypocritical nature so much.

I'm not sure how the story went. Truly. That's because I finished this manhwa more than 3 years ago. Heck- I don't even know the name of the main character nor do I have any recollection of what the plot was about except the fact that it's about cooking
But, with all that said, I'm still gonna rate this a 9/10. Simply, because I remembered the feeling of joy and satisfaction this manhwa illicit from my 14-year-old self on that random summer sunday afternoon. It's simply because I remember how wide my smile was as my thumb zealously scroll through each chapters and the sense of satisfaction, of warmth I felt as my eyes read through each dialogs, each scenarios. Why is nobody questioning who the professor is? LIKE- I was losing my mind over how to feel about him ever since he first appeared bc he was SO SO FUCKING HOT but he has that bad vibe to him, yk; so I didn't want to get attached (I thought he had a cr Jiheon lol). But then as the story went on, it appears that he was into Woojin (he even manipulated our poor boy, and feed him those damn pills just like Jiheon did) so I was like..."yeah, whatever. He's prob the 2nd ml". But the mf turns out to be super protective of Jiheon. Not just that, when the pills finally works, he didn't even took Woojin for himself and put him right at the doorstep of Jiheon (his supposed-love-rival). So now I'm confused. Like...as fuck.
(I mean...I do suspect that the professor hottie is somehow related to Jiheon by blood or something

It's 3 am yet here I am kicking and screaming like a lunatic over this absolute masterpiece.
I mean....what can I say? The art style, the characters, even the scenery were all breathtaking. Each one of the characters were drawn so beautifully that even the villain—King Argo—got me thirsting over his evil self, kicking the midnight air on my bed like a teenage boy reading a Playboy magazine for the first time.The scenery, like I said, was absolutely breathtaking—especially in that one scene where Los took Psyche on an adventure to that flower(?) field—oh! I was absolutely gagged.
Now, with the new translation, I can't help but feel a little disappointed since it was as though the art weren't being shown in the best of quality which made me a bit sad as, especially in this specific art style, the low quality and the graininess of the panels just make the illustration looks cheap—which is quite a shame considering how fitting the style is for a story with such an interesting plot like this.
Now, speaking of the plot, dare I say that I was a bit skeptical when I found out that the plot was actually
Just the story of Eros and Psyche. At first, I really thought it was just going to be another gender swapped plot, which to be fair since I wouldn't have mind as just seeing the beautiful Psyche and Eros would have been enough for me. But, as I got further into the story, it was clear that my assumption was wrong as despite also being the retelling of the love story of Eros and Psyche, this piece of work is a story unlike any others. In fact, calling this just a "love story" is a far cry from the creative, complex plot that this retelling have to offer. The world building for example is a plus in my book. Especially considering how in the original story of the Greek mythology, Psyche's background was nothing more than a brief mentioning at the beginning of the tale. Therefore, making the political struggle as Psyche's character-motivation, not as the subplot but as the main plot itself, was genuinely super refreshing and creative as it also acted as a satisfying filling to the hole in the original tale. Which is great as it gives Psyche, as a character, actual purpose and motivation rather than just being Eros's devoted wife like in the original tale in the mythology.
Overall, this was a solid 8.5/10 for me.
The plot was creative with its choice in retelling an age-old tale of Eros and Psyche and of course, the illustrations were to-die-for.
For a BL, this was great. For now.
