Well, if you don't find it appealing, there is nothing wrong with it at all... I have 50/50 relationship with finder.... sometimes I like it sometimes I don't...
If you are looking for reasons why people rave about it, there are many reasons about it..... from what I have observed...
1. One of the first yaoi mangas that became so much famous during the ascendance of yaoi.... 5 yrs ago, well, that is when I entered the world of yaoi, yaoi manga are not that much many as compared of today......
I pretty much knew that totally captivated and finder are the most top of the list yukuza themed yaoi that you could find and recommended by fans before...
The fact that this is still running until today proved that the old fans and new fans (if their population is that many) really loved the series and I could kinda pinpoint the love between it... there are not much yakuza themed before, well a good written one and with many hot characters, so the finder takes the cake...
2. In relation to number 1, I do think that asami in particular is the man of the dreams years back and I guess maybe until today to some fujoshis around....finder started as rape, yes, that is true but there are fans who kinda love or just ignore the part cause in the long run, the couple became more intimate than before and he is becoming hotter and hotter each chapter so can't blame them.
3. The plot, as I mentioned in number 1 and 2... the ascendance of yaoi, the plot of most yaoi are actually rape themed ones and it has the forced element with it, it is actually so arre before to find something that has no rape in it except shounen ai ones.. but the manga compensated it with strong chemistry of the seme and uke and also the big factor is the yakuza themed one, I do think the finder has some action scenes fans loved and it carried on....
4.the art... well this is not most beautiful manga but before, some manga are badly drawn, finder?? Many are like glued on because of the amount of hot men in the story so the reader's eyes are already entertained....
5. The ova adaptation of this manga... finder has an ova, and that might also draw in fans to read and follow cause this became their kink or just saying their type to follow in manga and read
