I think part of the reason is because this story is set during a time where women were less than men. They have all these rules to follow to be perceived as proper but they're all just property to the men in their lives. If I recall correctly, they even stated they don't have actual names. It's really sickening especially since it's told through Cheong's perspective, the most vulnerable woman in the story.
This was the first Yuri manga that I ever read and the one that opened me the world to a new genre Time to re-read it

I kinda agree, although right now she's basically imprisoned, so there's not much she can do currently in comparison to her situation at the very beginning of manhwa, when she had her power and strong social position.

I just read the new chapter and I can just say: I can die happily now but I was hoping Hyewon will want a second round like when she do it with Yoosun, but oh well.... and the ending, next week will be DRAMA, I just hope Yoosun starts showing her true colors and Dohwa can start realizing that her Unnie is not a saint
