"Featless" as she may have been, she was a beloved character from the the OG series who died seemingly out of nowhere with no chance of a better ending, people are going to be upset. It's also because her character is so different from SDS that it feels jarring. People have been talking about Ban, and Meliodas, and King, and every other romance because the author can't write them for shit. It's old news at this point, so is his issue with writing women. Jericho only died a few chapters ago and people tend to be more forgiving of a recently killed off character that they once liked. I also believe that I shouldn't have to mention my every issue with a series in a relatively short comment thrown into the ether, and it shouldn't lead you to assume that it is my only problem. I'd say it would read as disappointed at both her sudden end and at Lancelot's killing of one of his biggest motivations thus far, ruining his character arc. Sure, I don't mention her being in second running for the Pedo Supreme Crown, but why would I be okay with hers if I'm not with Lancelot's? It's just assumption on your part.
I checked the last few chapters of the SDS manga just to be sure, but there doesn't seem to be any hint that the cat gets away. We see Arthur defeat him pretty thoroughly, and then reunite with the last few living citizens of Camelot, and that's all. Even then, I'm not saying Arthur being the main villain makes sense. I'm saying that I believe the author, who LOVES twist villains, thought it to be a good idea and then retconned his decision. A sequel it might be, it could have had an entirely new villain, as sequels usually do. Hell, it probably would have been better than to let the audience wonder just how Arthur became evil when it makes no sense for his character, and then reveal it was the secret final boss who appeared at the last minute in SDS with little to no foreshadowing.

It would’ve been way more interesting if maybe the author played more on “refusing destiny” w guin’s whole future sight n all, and made the main villain some keeper of fate that tries to stop them from going against destiny (kinda like miles morales across the spiderverse) idk just sounds way more interesting than some cat
