I noticed that too !! I don’t think ai since they clearly already had amazing art, but I’m not feeling the cartoony style. The art improved so much, but now its changed all of a sudden and w this most recent chapter I feel like I couldn’t recognize Taeui in a few panels
Calling ANY art style ai looking is a slap to the face to every artist ever so disrespectful just say it looks off or some shit.
FIRST SHOT: we can first see hoyeon’s red shoes, which can be a symbol for us as high authority and social status. in this case with hoeyon being fully clothed with a slight ‘fancy’ look compared to jaesung, stripped, clothes on the floor, fluids on the floor, and basically naked, it reaffirms that in this scene (and throughout their WHOLE relationship), hoeyon will be in control. however i would say because jaesung does still have a shirt and his shoes on - he’s trying to gain some sort of control. on the other hand, this clothing could represent their vulnerability to each other. we don’t understand hoyeon and his intentions in this relationship, and therefore he is covered up from head to toe, whereas jaesung is an open book; his most private parts on full display.
MIRRORS: very symbolic in this chapter. beginning frames, hoyeon is placed in front of mirrors but never looks at them. i would say this is him refusing to look at his true reality and who he genuinely is; what he genuinely wants to be with jaesung. jaesung himself is not shown in the mirror (few exceptions) which i think clearly indicates to us that he has a much more realistic understanding of who he wants, what he wants, and to some extent who he is.
CLOTHING: circling back to clothing, after their whole ordeal jaesung gets given a spare set of clothes that’s much more fancier. i think in a way it’s showing us that i suppose? even though their power is more distributed now than it was before, in the end it’s all up to hoyeon. it’s his set of clothes. it’s his choice.
UMBRELLAS: umbrellas usually serve as protection. as jaesung is running through a crowd of umbrellas, you could almost view it as him being left vulnerable, and having no emotional shield protecting him. the one panel in particular i love is the one with the birds eye view of all the umbrellas, and we can see a little view of jaesung running past them. i feel like this emphasises how small he feels and i guess misunderstood from the situation that just unfolded. that one red umbrella really stands out to me too TBH.
THE TRAIN: now, “the train will be stopping accordingly to accomodate the train ahead of us” - along with jaesung’s texts from his mom - and his internal speech of “i swear i was trying to do my best to keep moving forward.” i think there’s some inner struggles from jaesung that we don’t really know about. it seems just from this scene that life tends to move forward without him, he is stuck in place while everyone keeps living. i can guess this means he tends to be quite reminiscent and sorry but if you’ve heard the “right where you left me” by taylor swift song then i would guess that sums up jaesungs life lolololol
MIRRORS - back to mirrors! “you’re not going to see me anymore?” - flick to hoeyon looking in the mirror (finally), i think he gets a glism at himself and his own feelings, but doesn’t care. he looks away. he grips jaesung, picturing them both into the mirror frame. i think this can show either hoyeon is dragging jaesung into the mirror so they can both face their realities, or if it just shows that jaesung is only unsure of himself when it comes to hoyeon.
but “you’re such a child” — now we can see jaesung alone in front of the mirror. i think this comes full circle back to the train scene, there’s a lot we don’t know about him as a character and i think this line weighed a lot; so much that jaesung hides his face from the truth. he doesn’t want to come to terms with being called a child and especially because he had such a revolting response - oof.
and now, they’re both placed in front of the mirror. left to deal with their true realities that they have been shying away from for so long, and now their pasts are being revealed.
[wow, i really did not think i was writing that much DAMN lol. this is just my interpretation of things btw because i really enjoyed this chapter, lmk if u want more :)]

so i’m pretty sure tay and jay are about to escape from the important guy their with right now, but both xinlu and ilay come to save him and he’s in the car with xinlu like driving away and ilay pulls up next to him and is like “come tay”, and since tay doesn’t trust jay with xinlu or something like that and wants to stay together with him he sticks with xinlu and leaves ilay by himself which pisses him the fuck off.
then xinlu brings tay and jay to china? i think somewhere foreign and the whole time tay is thinking about how he’s going to return back to ilay. so i’m pretty sure he runs away or xinlu lets him go i can’t remember the details but he goes to a bus stop to catch a bus to an airport to meet with ilay, but that’s where ilay finds him and thinks he’s running away and gets so angry. like he genuinely gets so angry and he puts his gloves on because he thinks he’s gonna kill him.
and then… he basically rapes him but like it’s really sad and so unjustified for tay and makes me really sad. i can’t even remember ilay apologising in the novel which annoyed me
ikrrr i felt so bad for tay :(( ilay thought tay was tryna leave him thats why he was so mad but tay was literally trying to find ilay :( and tay couldnt even explain to ilay until after i felt so bad for him i remember he was crying a lot

yeahh taeui js cried a lot when they had sex cuz ilay misunderstood and they did it with 0 prep they dont rlly fight over it i think its almost the end of the main story then they js kinda ski js reaffirm their feelings for each other after and ilay continues to be a possessive freak over him i have the novel if u want !
