I Don't Really Know

I read almost all type of yaoi, but... I like the ones with a logical relationship growth pace (makes me cringe when in two days they fall in love and shit, I don't mean about when sex occurs, that I don't care because one night stands are a thing), good body proportions and how they resolve their problems. I hate when they make a fucking drama from a stupid misundertanding. When I find a couple who actually acts adultlike is a fucking bless.

I just read any bl except if the first chapter is from a seme pov. It varies from genre but the main thing is that as long as the story manage to make my heart goes in pain (like you know, pain reading angsty stuff), then i know it's a good enough story.

The first thing I want is the art to be good if I don't like the art I don't read it, then I look at the dialogues if the translation is bad I don't read it even if I like the story and the characters, I also don't like it when there is too much dialogues... I read everything except the supernatural and brother x brother ones

I tend to never read the summaries bc they’re usually off or cringy at times. Once I get a chance to read the manga itself, I check to see the setting (high school? college? workplace? all?). After reading a bunch of manga stereotypes, you get the gist of what would likely happen in that certain environment. In a school setting, I really get tired of teacher uke stereotypes. The student falls in love & does something to pester the teacher then the teacher miraculously falls in love too. OR the childhood friend confesses or rapes the uke etc. A workplace setting would be like the new coworker transferred to the uke’s department, turns out they knew each other blah blah. But don’t get me wrong. I really love these stereotypes as well. It’s just that there are mangakas who have just went beyond the stereotypes and created something unexpected that makes you speechless. One of my all-time favorites are in the categories of these stereotypes. Anything that gives you that angsty, heart-clenching feel is usually the best. But whatever that aren’t these settings are usually gold too. Here are some that I think have good stereotypes or unexpecting storylines:

It depends. Really. One stereotype in one langa will make me go uwu while this same stereotype in another manga will make me go "meh".
Hard to explain huh. But usually, if there's blackmail/rape in the first chapter, I drop it. Not because of the trope in itself. After all, I do read and enjoy some of those stories when the rest is well written or the plot is focused on something else rather than the romance. Just that as I always say "there's like 100 mangas out there with the same plot but some have better art". Yeah. If the plot already goes in a bad direction, the least is to enjoy the art no ? No... Okay.
Second, when there's a sequel. Most of the time, it goes to the never ending gay world where straight people become a myth. Gay everywhere, anywhere, from right to left, to the daddy until the unrelated uncle. Unless it's set where they all met up in a gay bar or something like this, I end up finding it boring. All the more if it's a sequel to the father's love story (yeah, I just so love this sibgle daddy cliché) and then you get the son's story. Like WHY ?
Still. If it's your usual 5chapters story, I can put up with it. It becomes an issue with long ass manhwas over 100 chapters where most of the time, the slice of life/ school life means "never ending drama life". The drama repeats over and over and over and over until it doesn't make sense nor plot anymore.
To those, while reading, I do cringe from some cliché things. But if the plot in itself is interesting, I won't make a big deal out of it.
All of those give me some standards rating:
1 star for reeeeeally shitty annoying stories (when you can't even finish the first chapter).
2 when it's bad but I could put up with it for some time before dropping it.
3 when it's okay, but the art is meh.
4 when the story is okay and the art great. Or when the plot is great but the art is not.
5 when it's a gem. (a personnal word of course.)

im a pleasable person so i dont think anything grosses me out but there is one thing that i am but a bit neutral with: calling some dude’s asshole a pussy hole. i can see the appeal of it but really turns me off. overall treat an asshole like an asshole ᕕ( ᐕ )ᕗ
