They’re skipping a lot of the novel and it’s not allowing the story to mesh together well. After the raspberry patch Eleanor makes pies for the emperor and they discuss a lot which develops their relationship. And Franklin plans the attack on a hillside to a temple where Eleanor is supposed to be praying to prepare for her wedding. And the empress dowager doesn’t trust Persephone completely at first it’s when her sacrifices are intercepted by the emperor that’s after some baron is killed and count Roger’s is arrested before she sends a snake to Persephone asking for the heart.
Maybe they’re trying limit how long the manhwa is but the story is much more fleshed out in the novel
