Not historical and at one point the uke does fall in love but Legs That Won't Walk. The seme is a black flag ( hurts the uke to have him and chains him at one point)

Looking for a Japanese Yaoi manga, the plot goes like this - MC1 was dating his bestfriend but his bestfriend got with someone else so he moved to a different city for university/college where he met this other guy (MC2) who he thought was gay and was happy about it but the guy was rude to him because MC1 is bisexual. They eventually started having a friends with benefit relationship before they got together, does anyone know the name. Thanks

Beware the Ides of March - also has a really sweet MC who is trying to move on in life, and an asshole ML who is dumb about recognizing his own feelings. Once he does though, there is so much groveling and he's pathetic in a fun way lol. It's a lot more violent than this story's relationship though ()
I’ve read that one too (wasn’t a fan of the bit) but for some odd reasons I liked it I think because the mc and ml didn’t get together till like towards the end and the ml groveling (I think I might enjoy plot like this lol)
Hate mate is super good. Guy gets rejected by his best friend and it shows how he moves on from him. I don’t wanna spoil, it’s genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever read
