It was so long ago that I read this but I can't recall the name for the life of me. I left the story halfway because it was really toxic but maybe the curiosity is finally catching up to me and I keep thinking about it. The MC falls in love with the ML almost at first sight when he sees the prince, something related with a flower and MC's mother. MC is an illegitimate child from a servant and is mistreated by his father and his half sister. His half sister is chosen to be a concubine/consort of the ML prince who is known to be a cruel tyrant. MC also somehow ends up at the palace and starts working as a servant. I remember the MC catching ML's eye and he cruelly takes MC's first time even though ML is not into men. ML really mistreats MC (the reason I left it tbh). The MC is kinda dirty blonde, he likes to carve small figurines and he is really small, weak and gets sick a lot in the story. Anyway, if you know the name, please help me with it.

I'm assuming you've read this already. Could you tell me if it is worth reading till the end? Is there any remote hint of a redemption arc or an attempt at one?

I followed ur question 'cause I was interested, too, but after coming back from reading the comments, I can tell you that there is a short redemption arc, lasting abt 5-10 chapters. And from what these people are commenting, it's not the least bit satisfying compared to what the ML put the MC through.

So redemption arc? Yes. Satisfying? No

Yes, I did. My tastes will differ from you, but I completed it, because I was interested in seeing how it all played out: the sister and the general/commander. There is sorta a redemption arc, I have mixed feelings about it though, as other readers pointed out that it started way before the poor uke disappeared from the CP's life. Also, I was told the novel is way more toxic and it was toned down for the manhwa adaption, plus some scenes are missing or totally changed.

(My rambling probably didn't help. Sorry.)

Not at all. Thanks for letting me know. I am not the type to be able to leave things halfway easily. Probably why even after months, I somehow still recalled it in the back of my mind. So, I will probably give it a read and finish it for my sanity's sake. But I will continue to hate the prince as always.

Honestly, I knew there was no possible way for the prince to have any way of redeeming himself anyway . Nothing he could do could make up for his trashy actions.
