I just realized that it is not common for people to have cousins with huge age difference everywhere in the world. My nieces and nephews are older than me. Some of my cousins were married with babies before I was even born. For context, my father AND my mother both had 8 siblings, EACH. And they're both on the younger end.

I have a theory that Gun helps his rivals grow stronger and takes in so called 'successors' not because he's looking for fun but because he WANTS to be defeated. He can't betray the chairman because apparently they shared a cup of tea or something but the chairman has become too evil and the only way Gun can stop helping the chairman is to be defeated by someone.

The fact that they would rather have the people still doubt Ashtarte to be the darkness and think she killed her sister than to reveal that Amaryllis was a homunculus just so that she would be remembered fondly shows that her family is stil choosing the fake sister over the real one. Ashtarte is still alive and has to live with the people's judgement yet they care more about the memories people have of Amaryllis. They claim to love Ashtarte but they don't. Even if they feel guilty, ultimately, the one they still love the most is Amaryllis.
