Dear mates, I think we’re mature enough to take responsibility for what we read, right? I believe most of us are already adults, or at least old enough to be wise about it. If this story doesn’t fit you, then just drop it.

And YES!! Thank you to the people who tried to warn others about the rape elements in this story. But yeah there’s a BUT. I really hate it when people start taking it personally against the author, calling it bad writing etc. Instead of just giving a warning, they blow it out of proportion and start fighting people who actually enjoy the story.

What makes me feel really weird is when someone says this story is so DISGUSTING while they’re literally a Jinx reader. And there are also people comparing Geumryang to Taejoo. Like… what???

I understand that some of them are upset because no one warned them about the rape elements before blablablah that’s fair. But the comparisons they’re making just don’t make sense. If this story is “disgusting”, then what about Jinx?

ANDD Geumryang is FAR, far away from Taejoo.

I’m pretty sure most people here already know there are rape elements in this story, but they still choose to enjoy the storyline. And again, thanks for the warning.

Now let people continue reading the stories they want to read. I mean, you just can't control everyone.

Yes. Tell them. They're acting as if the "god" wasn't completely unaware that this would be labeled as rape, He literally has almost close to no interactions with humans.

Agree. I know there are rape elements in the story, but some people act like that's the ONLY thing about it without even trying to understand the characters. What's funny is that most of the stories they like also have rape elements, whether explicit or not. I was just gonna ignore it but all the noise got to me lol

Isla December 11, 2025 5:43 am

Ugh, I don’t get why people who dislike comments from others who are spitting facts. I can’t wrap my head around the fact that some people even support Pyeonghwa for "raping" him again, like do you want to get raped too? Ofcourse the people who are complaining know they’re reading a toxic BL, but at least they are still in the right mind, not like ‘yeah, go rape him again' like the fuck??

Who says fiction doesn’t affect anyone? Didn’t you read? Earlier, some people even supported Pyeonghwa raping Incheol again. As a psychology student, I can’t underestimate this kind of support. You don’t get it. A lot of people I’ve seen end up taking stuff from movies or games into real life because they started out like this. If we keep acting like ‘it’s okay it's just fiction, oh it's okay it's not real,’ it gets stuck in their subconscious without them realizing

If you say this as a "psychology student", you're failing to understand your lessons. If someone is affected by what they read/see jn a fictional story, it's simply a matter of managing their emotions about it and filtering the content they choose to consume if it doesn't agree with them. It does NOT mean they could ever confuse that what happens on a fictional story faithfully reflects reality, real life morals or that it condones/promotes harmful acts. IF a person thinks that, it's caused by other serious issues in their lives, NOT the fiction they read.

i don't agree with them but they're not failing to understand their lessons, what they're saying is true. the idea that fiction doesn't affect reality ignores the evidence of exposure's influences on people's perception of normal and acceptable behavior. people's mind don't operate on an on/off switch for fantasy. it doesn't matter if they know it's wrong, fiction can bleed into reality through a person's mind without them knowing because most of the time that builds up. it's not about the content that disagrees with them, it's about the content that doesn't bother them. if someone is affected by a fictional story in ways which slowly changes how they view things like this person is talking about then it's not a matter of filtering content but of recognizing that the content is harmful in the first place, something that doesn't happen bc of influence and it's why they keep talking abt normalization and subconscious lolz

It's like that grp of ppl who are boasting that they send reports to the police abt anyone who likes problematic/toxic plots in fictional stories, convinced they're saving lives. T_T When instead they flood the reporting system with the equivalent of useless "I like to read mystery vs philosophy", and potentially delay actual victims of real life harm getting the help they neeed. All they have to do is say/discuss how they felt uncomfortable reading it, not become obsessed to prove how wrong of an act it was that they read in a damn manhwa, as if they and every other reader will be smited be gods, governments, online morality police and their moral compass will be shattered unless they condemn it. That's some next level irrational fear they've internalized.

Read a few books, talk to a few reputable psychologists and you'll see what you say is simply not true.

    Meow December 11, 2025 6:53 am

no, tell me why i'm wrong. to my knowledge rn no one is saying fiction directly makes people commit crimes, but acting like fiction has zero psychological influence is even more unrealistic than that and all those psychology books say the same thing. human perception doesn’t work on a simple “just filter your emotions” switch. people absorb things through repetition and fiction is one of the biggest sources of repeated exposure we have. media doesn’t turn someone into a rapist, but it does shape what people become desensitized to, what they joke about, and what they consider “normal,” which is exactly what influences rape culture. i disagree with someone policing reactions to toxic yaoi on mangago of all places just as much as the next person, but acknowledging that media influences attitudes subconsciously is in fact basic psychology. don't tell me that i'm wrong and that i should read a book to find out why when it's coming from someone going against what the books say and then blocking me so i won't respond

Girl, who told you not to care about rape?
I said you don't get to judge someone's moral standing from how they talk abt a fictional character and think it's accurate or psychology-validated. Which is what you assumed and did, YOU made it personal, can't you recognize that?
They're not taking abt a real person, some ppl can use fiction as an outlet to safely explore all sorts of behaviors and mindsets, without causing any harm to others or their own mentality, since they can differentiate reality from fiction. Unless they consume ONLY fictional rape kink stories on the daily, as well as listening to and associating with opinions of unrepentant rapists irl, or ppl who promote sexual abuse, there's no inherent harm done!
If you don't understand that and/or it worries you that someone could speak like that even in the realm of fictional content, then ASK THEM if they'd condone or do something like that IRL. That's all u can do, apart from simply not interacting with them if it's something that bothers you.
    Scenario 1:
(Person) Damn, rape that fictional guy again please.
(You) Oh so you condone rape! You don't care abt victims! You're a messed up person irl!

    Scenario 2
(Person) Damn, rape that fictional guy again please.
(You) It makes me uncomfortable reading that take, cause while I know it doesn't define your character as a person nor do I assume that you condone it, I tend to view these incidents realistically even when depicted in fiction. So, I feel terrible for the fictional guy who went through that and angry at the fictional guy who did it and hope he pays for it and they get away from each other asap.

Do you see the DIFFERENCE??? If you don't, then idk, look into it and stop making it into other people's problem

Wtf r u talking abt? Can't drop the act when being faced with your incorrect assumptions? Damn..
What I'm talking abt is an issue reported recently and involves people whose views and approach toward fiction have many similarities to yours, as seen in this thread. Hence, the relevance. Is that too difficult a connection to make? I'm sorry, I'll dumb it down for you next time.

Don't run away you fucking loser.

There’s a lot of interesting statements from you that I’m itching to quote:

    1. "I said you don't get to judge someone's moral standing from how they talk abt a fictional character and think it's accurate or psychology-validated."
-> I need to remind you, everyone on this site is a judger, including you and me. We all naturally judge, whether the story makes us happy, sad, angry, whatever. People have the right to say anything, even if it’s the dumbest shit ever.
-> And what do you mean by “judging someone’s moral standing” when they’re literally supporting rape regardless of whether it’s “just how they talk”?

    2. "That's all u can do, apart from simply not interacting with them if it's something that bothers you."
-> THAT’S EXACTLY WHY I made my own comment, but you came in and judged me like I’m the problem, when you were the one who crossed my line first. You’re the one making a mess and then blaming me. Don’t pull the victim card. I can talk calmly, like I did with @Meow, but you came in with fire.

    3. Scenario 1 and 2
-> I don’t give a fuck about your scenarios if you want to keep that mindset, but here, let me give you a better example:
“Damn, rape that fictional guy again please.”
Read it again until your cracked brain unites.
    “Damn, rape Palma again please.”
To be fucking honest, I like toxic yaoi with dark psychological approaches like this. And I was pointing out people who normalize rape, not the story or the characters because I damn well know it’s canon.

    4. "Do you see the DIFFERENCE?? If you don't then idk, look into it and stop making it into other people's problem."
-> SHUT IT AND STOP PULLING THE VICTIM CARD. I’m not the one making a problem, you came in and caused a fuss. If you really wanted to talk to me, you should’ve talked calmly instead of arranging a whole essay to force your beliefs on me while saying I’m “failing to learn my lesson.”

That's not how discussing works if you actually want us to exchange thoughts. Don’t excuse the attitude just because you hide behind the “this is an illegal site so everything is okay” logic. That doesn’t magically make MORALLY FUCKED UP things suddenly excusable.
