I’m only on like chapter 11 and it’s soooo hard to read this like idk why but this feels so forced and corny like. does it make sense that soldiers that are used to fighting against monsters are suddenly weak as hell and unorganized when it comes to fighting orcs? or easily one hit by the ml simply because he’s an esper? like it’s fine that he’s stronger than them, but let’s be honest? if none of them are espers but are capable of fighting and defeating monsters they should at least hold their ground against him for a while longer. not to mention they apparently have been doing this for decades so how do they seem so green when it’s time to fight?
also, it’s so corny and i genuinely can’t understand why i find it corny but it just feels like the conversations and actions between characters are forced and like don’t really flow smoothly making it feel like it’s acting even tho it’s a manwha? idk maybe that’s just me tho
lol I’m actually pretty pissed too. this had the best starting line and it was so interesting. but somewhere along the way with this walking disaster of a ml who levels up only to just barely eek out a win during every confrontation it’s truly amazing i managed to get through it.
everything just felt so random. like why tf was an evil god apart of it? and how the hell did we suddenly go from cultists end game to a Lovecraft novel. maybe I’m the dumb one, but it felt so forced. it would have been fine with the ending being the empower guy being killed but suddenly were in the divine realm and leveling up for the nth time only for him to once again damn near die during the fight and STILL need outside help. the weakest op character I’ve ever seen fuck
For what it’s worth, this was actually pretty interesting. For it to be only 64 chapters long although it was somewhat fast paced i feel like they managed to wrap it up pretty well and there was only one main plot line to follow so it didn’t get to confusing. if anything i wish they fleshed out the rebellion a little more and made it more complete, because it sort of felt like we were thrown in the middle of the ocean, sink or swim. i think that’s mainly due to the lack of hinting the author did. Like we knew the ex husband was garbage and that he was up to no good, but the most i assumed was that he’d go on a kidnapping course and he would incorporate the princess to separate the ones they wanted. but then suddenly were talking about rebellion and the emperor was stabbed. it just felt random.
other than that, however, it was with the read for the comedic relief value at least. so i do think it’s rated fairly
i got farther than i ever did on any of my previous tries, however I’m still dropping. I honestly can’t with the mc, he’s so lame. like he gets his skill and immediately starts acting arrogant and annoying. not to mention, he’s a fucking whiner. everything the broad says he needs to do it’s ’how come, why i gotta, why can’t i—“ blah blah like, bro you realize the ultimate end is the war of the gods, so ultimately just stfu and work to get stronger ugh. there’s so much more i find annoying but since I’m dropping anyway, i won’t continue.
tbh, i think this was a lot more interesting than people give it credit for. I was going in thinking the mc would be a pushover that stuck his nose into everyone else’s business for righteousness sake thanks to a poster mentioning as such.
However, in reality everything that happened was either from targeting or because of his position in the college as a jr murim police officer so he didn’t exactly have a choice.
I also thought this was probably a great way to do a murim comic and wrap it up befpre it starts to drag because although murim can be interesting, the plots and schemes are usually so intricate and delicate that by the time you’re on chapter 200 it’s not only just getting to the crux of the story but also only have way over. i get so exhausted by that point i usually end up pausing indefinitely.
Meanwhile, this one, while action centered and plot heavy, managed to do a fine job at wrapping the story up and packaging it well enough that it doesn’t get too tiring.
the one thing i will say is that it lacked any real sense of struggle with the mc and his desire for strength. usually the character would find a master and get stronger gradually, but in this it just seemed like the mc leveled up after each fight without any real sense of development. it felt sudden.
overall, though, it was a pretty good read.
love me a good poly ending. like yes why choose one when you can have both! especially when both of them are willing? double dick double happiness or something like that…anyway! this was so good. i was skeptical at first cause it seemed a lot more like childish i guess than i expected but then it started getting hectic fast af boy but wow I’m so glad i read this. i almost couldn’t put it down
i hate when the characters are so hellbent on the original characters happiness that they keep defining what that happiness is based on a fucking novel that clearly been fucked up front the moment you started changing shit. like when will these mcs realize that just because you’re in a novel doesn’t mean that everything will have to go as the novel has written. like girl I’m on chapter 36 and she’s steady trying to run away because she believes his happiness is with the other girl. as if this mf hasn’t shown how obviously obsessed he is with you. please bffr
firstly, let me just say that i love when the female lead is strong willed and physically capable . I also love when they end up with someone that’s not the same trope of a prince or powerful duke, but instead someone without a proper title (second sons) that then take on the title/name of the wife. make him a simp and I’m in love. I also lovedddddd the magician so much! and tbh, i loved that his feelings for her weren’t romantic in nature as i always hate when authors make the female lead someone that’s romantically desirable to all male characters instead of just giving them good guy friends that want the best for them. that’s why i was so happy when he didn’t become jealous and vindictive of the ml when he found out they were together. he was more like a big brother watching out for his little sisters and that made me so happy.

this was so sugary sweet i can’t. my heart is still fluttering i loved this so much
