him being depicted as having sympathy for jaekyung when he himself is in a difficult and terrible situation is ridiculous but at the end of the day, dan is a victim. Hes a victim of his upbringing where he was constantly made to feel small, very few people are nice to him because the only people hes had time for were terrible people trying to take things from him. He grew up with the love of his grandma but shes been sick for a while which has left him alone. He is certainly jaekyungs victim. Jaekyung is abusive and mean to him but hes also gotten dan out of some bad situations and given him a place to stay, something he was struggling to do on his own. So in his mind, he owes jaekyung something. Stockholm syndrome is a thing and add debt into the situation, how can you expect dan to beleive he deserves better when no one has ever told him he does?
i get there are some people who are repressed, not good at expressing their feelings but the way jaekyung acts youd think he face some serious trauma when he was growing up. why does he have never ending amounts of anger, why is he always exploding and not just at dan but at anyone. are we just supposed to see him as that kind of guy?? what is the author going for in making jaekyung so damn mean and angry all the time, barring his repressed feelings for dan?
- the grey haired girl who shows up in ch 11? ml has slept with her once before (before ml and mc ever gtt together), mc does find out about this at some point and is jealous and hurt but decides to move past it because he and ml were not even involved at the time (shes not an important character and doesnt show up much but there are instances where we see her because she wants to date ml)
-when ml loses his memory toward the end, mc does cut off contact for a bit after they break up, he hides his location so ml cant track him and when ml does find him, he waits out in the rain until mc lets him inside his home
- there is a side character hoobae later on in the story who is in love with/has a crush on mc. This hoobae is pretty sweet overall but he does force a kiss on the mc which mc hides from ml until ml finds out on his own
-earlier on in their relationship, mc is sort of overwhelmed by the ml clinginess and possessiveness and sometimes wishes he could have more alone time but he does eventually come to enjoy spending all his time with the ml
- both characters parents are homophbic. mc never tells his parents about his relationship with ml but ml parents know about theirs sons obsession with mc
- ml skips out on his grandpas funeral because mc isnt answering his texts or calls which sort of led to his parents finding out about his obsession/relationship with mc (this happens kind of early on in the story so this tells you how quickly obsessed ml is with mc)
-ml parents hope ml will eventually get tired of dating a man/mc so they let the relationship continue expecting it to end ( in the end they dont really/cant really interfere with the relationship)
Apparently, i only read some of the story based on the translators words so for those who may have been turned away by the novel, just know that I might not have gotten the full picture
I read the novel and the ml didnt consciously like the mc in the beginning, he thought it would just be fun to play with the mc, sleep with him once and be done with it but then he decided he could sleep with the mc any time if they were in a relationship. The mc never really finds out about this which kinda pissed me off. I will say the ml was always lowkey attracted to the mc he was just in denial. while they are in the relationship, the ml becomes very obsessed with the mc and pretty much hates when he interacts with anyone, male or female. He doesnt want mc to work or live separately from him either. This is pretty much how the whole novel goes, they have sex a lot and they are obsessed with each other.
Toward the end of the novel, the ml loses his memory from a car accident and his original personality returns. Mc tries to get ml to remember their relationship but the last thing ml remembers is being annoyed with mc for trying to pretend hes experienced with women/sex. They sleep together once and then ml decides that he doesnt want to be tied to a relationship he doesnt remember, least of all with someone annoying like mc. Mc decides to back off and moves out of their shared home and agrees to the break up because he doesnt like the current ml, he misses the 'kind, sweet' ml that he knew. He hopes the ml memories will return and then they will get back together. Ml tries to go back to his playboy ways because thats really who he is at heart but of course he feels unexplained attachment to the mc and eventually grows attached to him again. Ml and mc get back together with the mc accepting the 'new' ml (but not really new because the ml was always a playboy asshole, he just never showed that side to mc)
ml memory does eventually come back and he even gets jealous of himself because he felt like his amnesia self is a different person and that the mc was basically dating someone else even thought its all him. They live together in a new home and thats how the story ends basically
Spoilers******
Thanks for the recap! I love the drama that comes with a toxic couple.
Two key groveling instances which would make the story much better.
1) if the MC finds out what the ML really thought of him at the beginning. Now that the ML is obsessed with him, the MC leaves him. So the ML grovels asking for forgiveness about his original intentions with the MC.
2) The ML and the MC break up after the memory loss and then the ML regrets it realizing his feelings for the MC. But by that point, the MC has seen the playboy side of him and the ML recovers his memories and intensely grovels.
Honestly with an a-hole ML I need them to be in agsty situations like this for me to come around :(
Sorry, I really don't like spoilers. Especially, on my own projects. It's kinda demoralizing. Because then, why the hell do I need to waste my time working on chapters?
Anyway, the original post is overall pretty misleading. It skips the plot of the entire main story. The portion that says "The mc never really finds out about this..." is absolutely wrong. Unless there's another ML POV in the side stories [which I yet to read], his feelings towards MC and his treatment of MC are also misrepresented. Just like their dynamic overall. The part about amnesia is one of the side stories, not the main story.
I don't want to offend the author of the post, but it looks like they didn't actually read the novel. Just glanced over some pages and made the conclusion based on that.
Please do thank the translator on their blog for translating vol 1-3 in Spanish, it was not a small amount for them to get through

so i was able to read volume 2-3 and i thought id share spoiler since i know id be curious:
first things first there is a long road to sangwoo and jaeyoungs physical relationship starting lol. i wasnt able to read volume one but im sure it entails what we've seen in the manhwa so far and maybw a bit more about how sangwoo and jaeyoung do end up working on sangwoos game together. (theres so much to remember so my details might not be in the right order but the overall timeline is right)
VOLUME 2: for much of volume 2 we see jaeyoung working hard to get any extra time with sangwoo who still displays annoyance with him. We also see them work seriously on the games development which is how they grow closer. eventually jaeyoung gets sangwoo to work together in one of the school labs and the time they spend working together grows from minutes to hours over the course of a couple weeks. sangwoo gets to know one of jaeyongs friends name yuna (she end up finding out about their eventual 'relationship') but ofc he ignores like he does with everyone lol, they do get /slightly/ closer. im not sure what happened in vol 1 but it turns out sangwoo has been secretly saving photos of and studying jaeyoung because hes attracted to him. sangwoo also kisses jaeyoung in the lab while jaeyoung is "asleep" and then they end up drunkenly making out the next day at a restaurant. sangwoo tries to pretend it never happened but jaeyoung is upfront and says sangwoo has already kissed him twice, once secretly, and he says he wants to pursue a relationship with sangwoo or they have to quit working on the game together (he says this because sangwoo wants to pretend they arent attracted and wants jaeyoung to continue working on the game without them seeing each other) jaeyoung tells sangwoo that to relieve sangwoos sexual desires for him/men, they should sleep together and sangwoo can finally be free from his lust issue. Sangwoo is hesitant because he sees no purpose in male relationships since they cant reproduce together but after two weeks of considering he realizes his desire for jaeyoung is too strong and he can only fix it by becoming his sex partner. once its decided, they makeout again after working on the game at the lab and end up jerking each other off in the car outside sangwoos place. they get up to sangwoos place and sangwoo chickens out on sex which at first frustrates lusty jaeyoung but dont worry he respects sangwoos comfort zone in the end and lets sangwoo decide when they should have sex. they kiss occassionally after that failed sex attempt but its a lot of push and pull before an sex happens.
VOLUME 3: pretty sure this is the volume where they finally start their sex relationship. Sangwoo wants to do it one day, they try, it hurts sangwoo and he wants to get it over with. jaeyoung is determined to make him feel good so they try again (from behind lol) the same night and sangwoo really enjoys it. anyway, sangwoo becomes obsessed with sex but keeps thinking hes obsessed with sex with men when hes really obsessed with sex with jaeyoung, this hurts jaeyoung because he believes sangwoo will never be able to look at their relationship past fulfilling his desire to have sex with a man.
I will say, jaeyoung at first didnt take their relationship seriously since hes a live in the moment dude and he truly thought that having sex with sangwoo once would help both of them get over their lust and move on. ofc that isnt the case for either of them and id say they are pretty in love although sangwoo doesnt realize it. towards the end up the volume, sangwoo makes jaeyoung feel hurt again when he speaks lightly of the sex friendship. sangwoo knows jaeyoung will go abroad soon and cant seen his sex drive slowing down so tells jaeyoung he might have to find someone else to fufill his sexual needs when jaeyoung leaves abroad. jaeyoung goes silent for 3 days, not answering sangwoos calls. yuna (who has experience with a bf who moved far away and broke her heart) devises a plan for sangwoo to go to a bar all dressed up to make jaeyoung finally face sangwoo. jaeyoung gets mad at sangwoo for going out to "find another sex partner" at a bar, sangwoo gets mad that jaeyoung is shouting at him on the phone, sangwoos phone runs out of battery and their call is cut off. sangwoo gets super drunk and is harrassed by a 34 year old man at the bar who convinces sangwoo to try and sleep with him. sangwoo allows the man to kiss him on the street but is disgusted and tries to leave. the man doesnt like sangwoos rejection and they fight in the street but jaeyoung comes to sangwoos rescue fuming mad. volume ends like that
****smaller detail, jihye planned to confess to sangwoo but by the time she wants to sangwoo and jaeyoung are already trying to form a sex partnership and sangwoo has absolutely no interest in her. btw, jaeyoung is the one who tells her to not confess because sangwoo isnt interested and also, jaeyoung is jealous and doesnt want her to spend too much time with sangwoo
I wonder why they made this shounen ai (the webtoon is great up to now), since the novel is 19+ you won't be able to convert the novel to the webtoon one to one.
Someone linked a page which has a spanish translation up to vol. 3 a few pages back, if you want to read vol. 1 in spanish. I still hope that it is translated to english in the future.
I honestly wouldn’t call it an issue of miscommunication so much as an issue of sangwoos inability to process his own feelings. He thinks he’s being logical in finding a solution to his sexual desire and jaeyoung feels like he wouldn’t be able to explain it to him unless sangwoo understood his own feelings. At the end of the volume sangwoo is starting to process his feelings as more than sexual desire.
im actually not all that bummed out by the spoilers, yea its a bit cliche, but its nice to see a story for once where its the seme chasing the uke (I think right?) and is aware of his feelings, a whole switcharoo lol
plus the whole sangwoo being emotionally constipated doesn't seem to be so out of place considering his character haha
yep, also it might seem like the seme is doing all the chasing and he is doing most of the chasing but that doesnt mean the uke doesnt try. He does make some effort to be there for sangwoo, he tells him he misses him when hes gone, he kissed him on his own. so it nto just have sex and split up everytime, they spend a lot of time together outside of sex
For the spoiler i wrote i made sure to check the box that hides the spoiler. Secondly, i only just found out I may not have read the whole story. I read on a raws website that had 30 parts some of which were extras and some that were part of the main story. The raws stopped updating in 2022 so from my perspective i thought i was reading the whole story and the last chapter I read felt like an ending. Based on the translator I have not gotten the full picture and was being misleading. It was not my intention to be misleading, I wrote what I read. I only posted the spoilers because I personally get curious especially when I know theres a novel that the manhwa was based on. Please dont let my spoilers be the reason you dont like the story because it only included snippets from the story. I really was not trying to be messy and misleading I simply get curious and want to know more and i figured some people want that too. I didnt try to skim through the novel and draw my own conclusions, i just relayed what i had read. The novel is pretty long (and apparrently thats not even the full story), so I know it will take the manhwa a while to get to everything. I am actually happy to find out theres more, i personally enjoyed reading the novel and felt like I needed more closure and apparently there will be. So keep reading the manhwa because theres a lot left i missed
ty for the spoilers tho !!!
Thanks for the spoiler. I'm not fond of this kind of plot, and based on other comments without spoiler warning, the main couple presently both have a poor personality. But it doesn't mean that I hate the webtoon; I'll probably read this once it's completed or almost completed ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~.
i appreciate the spoilers! there are people who prefer seeing spoilers so those who are against it should just accept that. it didnt look promising for me from the start anyway even before any spoilers were revealed lol thats why i wanted to know thru spoilers if it's worth continuing
Thanks for spoilers, I always prefer to read the spoiler/s first(especially manhwa/hua) because sometimes some of the story/ies has some plot/genre that I don't like(cheating, toxic, scum, abusive, fuckboy, weak bottom, etc.) that I always avoid. I just prefer to spoil myself, rather than regret reading the whole story that I don't even like.
To be honest, some cover are just so tempting that sometimes even the story is trash, I always got carried away just by the cover of it. So, spoilers is helping me to avoid any story with genre that I don't want.
