Considering how most protagonists in Wuxia manhua like this one act, those two would already be dead or would have been embarrassed for constantly mocking Xinghe. It's irritating how he doesn't do anything, but it's also good in the sense that he doesn't feel like other characters of this genre. He's much more relaxed, and wise.
I have a feeling nothing will come out of this development. I mean, everyone seems to take everything pretty relaxed, I'm sure if he tells them the truth, they'll just go with it. Which is a bit disappointing...normally you'd think: He's not from this world, there's no attachment, he might see us as inferior beings, we should be careful around him. Considering he has so much power, it'd be the same as some people would treat superman, they would fear his power, and the fact that he isn't from the same world.
He literally killed the one that was considered the strongest grand master in the world without even breaking a sweat. I know he isn't for stealing or taking things by force unless he's pushed to do it...but who would care? He's almost an immortal, no one on earth can stop him if he wants to take something. Does he really need to go around asking for money or collecting debts? He could just take it from whoever is rich, what are they going to do? Call the police?
Well, he knows for sure karma is a bitch. God gave him a chance to reborn to do better in life so yeah, why steal when earning money the right way is easier. Besides, his background as Chen Fang of the Chen family is a burden in itself. He got family, and he ain't got time to defend all of them all the time. Oh, and he'll be a husband soon. He wouldn'tt want to make problems for his wife (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Good point, although when he becomes an immortal I doubt it'll be hard on him to be at multiple places at once. He proved he has techniques to kill an entire family with a single drop of blood. Once he reaches the heights of a god, he might be able to kill anyone who isn't at his level by thinking about it.
Yeah well... Isn't it good that mc have morals? Immortal as he is, he was once a human so it's good to not kills however he likes. I don't think that's how immortals should behave anyway :v his teacher would give him a harsh scolding if he became too inhumane. It's good that he knows limits and it's amazing that he knows payback, both good and bad. Besides, life would be too boring if everything is way too easy so he could have been taking the harder approach just to have fun ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
This is going to turn out the same as the other grand master "Oh, I'm so much more powerful than you, if you kill yourself It'll save you from a painful de- WHAT!? HOW CAN THIS BE!? YOU'RE 10X STRONGER THAN ME!?".
Then the rest are going to kneel, and beg for forgiveness. At least learn how to check if the other guy is stronger...you're a grandmaster, but you can't do that?
I have a feeling this isn't going to end well. Seems to me he's seeing his whole life in this world as an assignment. He said he wanted to enjoy his life more, but every encounter he has with someone is to further help his goal. The girls for example are proof of this, he doesn't even see them as people. He brainwashes them to follow him blindly, and he doesn't care for their well being more than you would for your car. Maybe he'll come around, and truly give himself to someone or enjoy life. But right now it seems he's 24/7 working on his assignment to kill the hero.
Well it is an assignment given to him by the goddess. He knows just how powerful the goddess is and doesn't want to fail, especially if the whole world is on the line.
The goddess also said that she's going to send more assassins to kill the hero and the mc doesn't want to lose his biggest prey.
I think that once he kills the hero, he'll start enjoying his life more.
Idk, this is just a theory lol.
Well, in his line of job, absolute loyalty is extremely important. If the girls waver in their loyalty, it could mean disaster especially. Assassins deal in "secret" after all.
Also, he is enjoying his life more. Notice that he's experiencing differences from his previous life as an assassin to his current one, namely; family and true friends. You could see it clearly when his father was talking to him in the basement about how to kill with a heart. To him, in his previous life, feelings are weaknesses, but his father wanted him to understand that feelings keeps him human and is important to keep him from becoming a tool for killing.
He acknowledge that he doesn't understand this yet but is willing to understand, as per his wish of living in his own terms.
Plus, the reason why he focuses on becoming stronger as an assassin is not just because he is ordered to kill the hero, it might simply because it is what he's good at. He is conscious of his goal , but remember, his goal is not about becoming the goddesses's pet killer.
Also, if you're worried that he would fulfil the goddesses's order, then remember also that he challenge that order in the beggining when he asked if there was another way to save the world without killing the hero. He's getting stronger as an assassin, but he didn't forget about living differently.
If he beats the ant with only pure strength, without using his assassin abilities at all or his knights, he's an actual monster who might have reached the peak of the world (behind his father I assume)
