I know Sangwoo can be a bit controlling, but I honestly don't think all of Jaeyoung's complaints make sense. He admits that he didn't really put much effort into his past relationships, yet he's upset that he can't leave dirty dishes in the sink or have sex wherever he wants. A relationship is a compromise. It's not just about what you want it's also about whether your partner is comfortable with it. If they're not, that's a valid boundary. The texting issue is the same for me. That kind of texting would just confuse me and make me spend extra time trying to figure out what the other person is saying. I don't find it cute or charming. I can understand not wanting a relationship to feel overly structured or like you're living by a rulebook. But some of their rules existed for a reason. For example, the "no sex on weekends" rule wasn't random they'd get so distracted that they'd end up doing nothing else all weekend. The rule was meant to help them maintain some balance.
Also... he should quit smoking for the sake of his lungs anyway, lol. Anyways please can someone tell me where to find the raws
I wish i knew the raws also I am a bit like jaeyoung so I can understand your frustration. Sometimes people find comfort in not having things done in a proper manner going with their feelings. And he wasnt complaining, he was just expressing that he was making an effort when sangwoo implied he wasn't. Which I thought was ridiculous. Saying someone hasn't showed effort in love over some spelling mistakes is a bit crazy. Sungwoo through the story mostly thinks abt himself. He is either like "this is my fault" or "this is not my fault". Not really thinking about jaeyoung as another person. But thats the point of their relationship
I think Sangwoo probably has some kind of condition, though I honestly don't know what it is, and I don't want to speculate. What I do think is that he processes things differently from the average person. When he said Jaeyoung didn't love him because of the texting issue, I don't think he was being dramatic. I think that's genuinely how he interprets things. For example, he tried to shorten his list of rules as much as he could. He also does things like wash the dishes and pick up Jaeyoung's socks even though he clearly doesn't enjoy doing them. To Sangwoo, that's how he shows love doing things that make him uncomfortable because they make his partner happy. So from his perspective, if Jaeyoung isn't willing to do things he dislikes for Sangwoo, it probably feels like Jaeyoung doesn't love him as much.
In real life... yeah, I know this is fiction, Jaeyoung feels like that guy that's really attractive then you get to know them, they become less attractive. At least to me. Like who are you leaving your socks on the floor for? Pick them up. It's not that hard. I also don't think Jaeyoung is putting in as much effort as he believes he is. When you live with someone, especially someone you say you love, you have to change habits that inconvenience them. That's just part of sharing a life together. At the same time, they both need to recognise that they're fundamentally different people. Jaeyoung is laid back and free spirited, while Sangwoo is structured, routine driven, and incredibly diligent. If they're going to work, they need patience, understanding, and a lot more communication. I'm not taking sides... Okay, I am. Most of Jaeyoung's complaints just don't land for me. Looking at his previous relationships and thinking about how he cared less is such a strange comparison. He was even trash to his exes. He also counts every compromise he makes without acknowledging that Sangwoo is compromising too. Picking up after someone else's mess when you're someone who values order that much is a compromise. If you genuinely want someone who lives exactly like you, then maybe you should date someone more compatible. But these two clearly love each other, so the answer isn't to stop compromising it's to keep meeting each other halfway. Otherwise, it starts feeling like Sangwoo is just constantly putting up with Jaeyoung's habits. And don't even get me started on the texting. If someone texted me without spaces or in a way that made me decode every sentence, I'd get the biggest ick. I don't even like it when people shorten every other word. The smoking argument didn't really convince me either. Quitting smoking should be because you want to quit or because you care about your own health not because someone else wants you to. That's different from something small like eating lasagne less often because your partner doesn't like it. If you don't want to drink a particular juice, for example, that's a perfectly valid boundary. Not every preference has to become a compromise. The thing that makes Jaeyoung a little less attractive to me isn't just that he's messy it's that he struggles to communicate. He bottles everything up because he's afraid they'll break up, then when they finally have a serious conversation, he walks away because he's angry and starts texting like a child instead. I think Jaeyoung wants Sangwoo to accept him exactly as he is, and in his mind he already accepts Sangwoo exactly as he is. So he's wondering, "Why can't Sangwoo do the same for me?" But that's where I get stuck. If accepting Sangwoo means accepting that structure, routines, and rules are part of who he is, then asking him to stop having rules is asking him to stop being... Sangwoo. Maybe I'm overthinking it. It's fiction, and I'm mostly writing this because it's fun to analyse. At the end of the day, I think they're just two people who are very different. They'll need a lot of patience, a lot of communication, and probably less sexy time and more talking time.
i knoww, analysing fiction is the fun stuff!! I do agree that both of them are facing the same problem of not being able to see the other side. For me, texting quick is more important than texting with proper grammar. idk about jae's reasons but mine is that if i spend time on grammar, i'll forget what I am trying to say. Making us "fight" like this over differences in the comments is kind of the point by the author. Normally, in romance books, they look love so fun but authors like this make it look so tiring TwT. Like i love those two together but im grateful that i got no ho3s.
"probably less sexy time" LMAO. reminded me of another BL i was reading where characters kept making out even though one of them REALLYY wanted communication. (It is also a rigid boy x troublemaker but the characters have VERY different personalities here)
I’m dropping this. Maybe I’ll come back for the next couple, but the “why are you still reading?” or “just drop it” comments are so stupid. When you’ve invested time in a story, of course you’re going to have opinions and want to talk about them. That’s literally how being a reader works. And honestly, people leave negative comments for a reason. Sometimes it’s because the story is misleading or tries to pass off something harmful as romantic like this. Sometimes it’s frustration watching a character do something clearly wrong and the story refuses to acknowledge it like this. Other times it’s just discomfort like this too. Not everything deserves blind praise. I stuck around for the art, but even that isn’t worth it anymore. This is easily the worst yaoi I’ve ever read and I’ve read a LOT of shitty ones. The romanticizing of everything going on here is actually disturbing, and the comments make it worse. Su Ah is a straight-up creep, and the fact that the story refuses to treat him like one is exactly why I’m done. I’ve never read something where a character is so obviously in the wrong, yet the narrative pushes you to sympathize with them like they’re some kind of tragic lover. And the worst part? It’s working. People are supporting it, acting like this is normal, like this is love. It’s not. It’s disgusting. I genuinely can’t believe this is being framed as a romance. I’ve seen messy stories before, but this takes it to another level. I'm out. I gotta choose me first lol. byeee(づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
Yeah, I’m actually really upset. I’ve stuck around for toxic, obsessive stories before not proud of it but at least those were written with some level of awareness. The authors usually acknowledged what was happening or gave proper context backstories, trauma, something that explained the behavior. It didn’t excuse it but it made it make sense. This just feels like straight up excusing sexual assault while blaming the actual victim the bottom. It doesn’t feel like a story at all, just an excuse to push smut without doing the work to build a relationship or a plot. I hate that whole “you know you want it even if you say no” vibe. It’s not romantic it’s disturbing. No is no. Consent matters, always, no matter the situation. What makes it worse is that the top is supposed to love the bottom. He’s not written as unstable or morally conflicted he just “loves” him. So why is he treating someone he loves like an object with no agency, no voice, and no emotions? That’s not love, and the story never seriously questions it. Male SA is real, and it matters. But this kind of writing downplays it as romance. And let’s be honest if the bottom were a woman, people wouldn’t be defending this. They’d call it out immediately for what it is. It also says a lot about the audience. Moments like this make it clear how often gay relationships get fetishized instead of being treated as real, human experiences. It stops being about characters and turns into consumption something people enjoy without questioning the harm behind it. I’m done. This isn’t something I want to keep engaging with. Peace
This could have been so much more with beautiful art and everything, but the top is so weird! Fuck, he doesn’t ask for consent for anything! And notice how the bottom explained himself, but the top didn’t do the same? Even though he’s the one who’s mostly to blame and NEEDS to apologize too. Even if they’re both at fault, they should both apologize.
But I’m forever on the bottom’s side. I’ll die on the hill that if he hadn’t scented him, none of this would have happened. The top has more control in the relationship he can push it any way he wants. Like the wind..Loving someone and staying for them isn’t the same as needing someone’s body to achieve your dreams. Even if they’re both at fault, the top is more at fault. It isn’t equal. That kiss was hot, but the lack of consent is so weird. It’s 2026, for goodness’ sake. We deserve healthy relationships with beautiful art not a weak story where people stay only because the art is good. At least I do
I know it’s just a story, but wouldn’t it be hotter if the top actually talked about his feelings and explained why he was hurt? If he acknowledged that what he did was wrong and asked for the coffee date instead of jumping straight to the reluctant kiss? Maybe wash the soap out of the bottom’s eye and talk some more. Or even kiss but after gently asking for permission. I don’t know about you, but that alone already makes me wet.
No one should pressure someone for sex or a kiss. There shouldn’t be conditions attached to intimacy. It’s not cute, and it’s not angsty it’s weird. Fucking weird. I’m honestly upset because the art is so good. One last thing people who said they were both at fault because the bottom was “using” the top since he knew he had feelings for him what are you going to say now? Because the top literally gave a condition that they had to meet up and go all the way. Isn’t that weird? At this point, it’s not even about the story anymore. I know it’s fiction, but the way some people think in the comments genuinely worries me. It makes me feel like some people would defend really messed up behavior as long as the person doing it is attractive. I hope I’m wrong, though.
I agree the juhyeok was getting so much hate for what he did the last couple of chapters but let’s not forget how Suah has been stalking and scenting him. Sure juhyeok kisses him but he did it because he didn’t want to be intimate with anyone else but god he’s so annoying about it like did you have to shove your tongue all the way down bros throat? He needs to take things slow
YES! Taking things slow is exactly what he needs to do. He’s rushing everything, and in real life that’s a total turn off. His ass would’ve been ghosted before he even got a phone, lol. I get so uncomfortable during their intimate panels. Why can’t he just wait, breathe, and talk? Especially when your best friend/crush isn’t ready and is literally saying no. It’s CLEARLY uncomfortable…
He really acts like a creep. If he were ugly, everyone would call it out immediately but because he’s hot, he gets a creep pass
Yeah, I know I’m sounding extra, but even on FB there are grown-ass people saying they understand both sides and that they’re both wrong. Like… huh?? Are we even reading the same thing? If they end up having sex in the next chapter, I’m dropping this shit and waiting for the second couple the beta and alpha judo couple.

IMO if ur wanting to read a green/healthy trope, heres one of many: https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/our_sunny_days/ bc this story is not n probably will not b that n that’s ok. i feel like the author alr established that in the beginning so there will b more toxic, noncon scenes to come which i personally look forward to. i love me an unhinged, possessive-obsessive pretty top n his stubborn, mean & overly sensitive bottom meal any n every day of the week :p
I love messy, shitty drama too. I ate Waterside Night like I was starving for days, and that was rapey too! But in Waterside Night, we knew he was in the wrong. Here, people are defending him and not seeing this for what it is. This story is just rapey as hell! The top is way too obsessed with sex, and that’s all he seems to know. He doesn’t even talk about anything else. The bottom always says no or doesn’t give permission for certain things, but instead of listening for even a second, the top makes it about himself. I can’t even get into it, and I would have left a long time ago if it wasn’t for the art. It’s not romantic to me it’s weird and non consensual. The bottom isn’t mean, stubborn, or overly sensitive. Are we even reading the same thing? His reasons are valid as hell.
But you do you. We all like what we like, and that’s okay. Oh, and read romance not romantic It’s actually really good I’ll keep reading though. I’m here for the beta and alpha story… the judo couple

I actually love this, and I can't wait to see how everything unfolds.
