WOW. this is an amazingly well crafted story, especially because I only read manhwas when I don't feel like intellectually engaging with what I consume. Rue is one of my favorite characters! simply because he reminds me of the saying "You could be the prettiest shade of blue, but it wouldn't matter if their favorite color is red", he, is by their standards, the most loyal servant, someone who is willing to serve his god for eternity, but not because he got to know Na-in or came to love him so much that he would wanna serve him forever naturally, but because growing up he was taught the Shahs were everything, his servitude to Na-in isn't self nurtured, it was taught from an early age in his life, which I think makes him such a complex character! You could almost say that he serves Na-in for a selfish reason, especially because he is willing to serve Na-in but never willing to see Na-in past what Na-in is in his own life, someone who he serves for honor, for glory, and as a promise for prosperity in the afterlife. He is implicit in the torture Na-in faces despite his deep care for him, he looks at Na-in like a wounded puppy because this is how he was conditioned to serve Na-in, I like to believe that he's insecure he isn't serving Na-in well enough despite all his efforts and he just can't understand why.

10/10 even the smut makes me feel like an ancient philosopher

I feel like if the tone of this manhwa was more psychological horror I'd enjoy this more. I can't say I find this scene romantic.. I think I'd be more into it if the main character was OK that it was happening (￣∇￣")

I love how the main character is such a well rounded character. I like that he gets jealous yet refuses to harm pink hair because he is a good person in nature, and I like the push and pull thing he has with Amon. it's the way he wants Amon but is scared of him at the same time– it's his two sides conflicting with one another, the part of him that is made to be Amon's companion and the part of him that is human, which in the story itself addresses that it's almost like he was made from the only human parts of Amon. so far this story is well written!

Na-in is a god with the heart of a human and instead of that serving him it's like a prison of sorts. He and Amon are different in such regard where Amon sees people as nothing, only in existence to be entertainment to him with their lives, so much so that he has no sense of shame and cannot understand Na-in for that very reason, the human part of Na-naturally can feel shame as he holds those lives with respect, valuing their opinions and thoughts, caring about how they perceive him, and most importantly... wanting to be understood by them

I can't help but see Amon in the big cat Na-in loves so much. it mauls with no second thought despite being human raised yet rolls on its back to present its belly for Na-in alone, and to be frank that makes his actions all the more sensible to me; He isn't human and because of that I don't think we can put him up against human standards, who is to say that what he demands is cruel (like human sacrifices, those banquets with fighting, entertainment, etc) when he has no concept of human experience? it's a very interesting thought! amazing read so far (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
