If Jian was mc and this was marked as a tragedy… it would have been the most gut wrenching, angsty story of all. The tragic end of Jian, the sunfish of cuckoo birds. His story would have ended with him imagining a life being raised by his mother and biological father, Jitae being his childhood best friend, studying abroad with Jitae, becoming Jitae’s assistant at the company, being happy and dying with a smile on his face. Then the side stories would have expanded on this imaginary dream world: a stereotypical bl with Jian and Jin being a slow burn and Mieum and Jitae being the hot mess side couple causing waves in Jin’s otherwise peaceful life.
BUT this isn’t a tragedy and Jian is not MC. I suspect we’ll find out he’s faux dead. He made a last minute change of plans to fake his death and have someone rescue him from the water. Jian will run away with his obsessive lover Jin or stop him from a suicide. (This is the only way to explain why Jian was late to getting to Mieum, he made a comment on getting to Mieum 2 chaps ago. How did Jin show up to Mieum before Jian when he left first and knew where Mieum was? Plus, Jian made the plan and probably picked the location. I suspect he intended to die if his mom didn’t give up, but he made a last minute change to fake it instead.)
Jian’s mom is now thoroughly ruined for murdering her own son. And so the whole story will come down to a bit of poetic justice for her, Jian’s birth and death are parallel to her rise and downfall.
This is what I’m hoping and think will happen too!
He had a bulletproof vest on cuz he was covering his stomach with both of his arms at the end, so that no one would notice he’s not bleeding from the gunshot wound. He directed Suryeon’s hand/the gun where he wanted the bullet to be aimed at. He will disappear and either contact Jin or Jin will find him after a while, my guess is the latter, cuz in the previous chapters he made it seem like he wanted Jin to live his life without him cuz he doesn’t think highly of himself. So when they can’t find his body, Jin will get suspicious and start searching for his body and then find him, possibly after a few years. Kinda like the ending of Mania!
We’ve been so focused on romance and Hee Seo and Taekyung. But we can’t forget, all this started because Hee Seo’s mom died and he doesn’t know why. Taekyung might not even know why. There’s a bigger picture here and that’s what’s most important. Now that the mom is dead, we might be closer to the root of what happened. Why are the people in the picture being offed? Who is Hee Seo’s support? Why did Tae Kyung leave the house but also keep the ring? Did he ever go back to the house? It felt like he was waiting for this moment to escape, because the hospital scene was so whack. Why did the tv change his mind? Was it because he realized Hee Seo might have a better understanding of what happened at the orphanage?
Hee Seo has been called out for the tree without roots. In reality, Taekyung doesn’t have roots. He was an orphan. He felt connected to Hee Seo’s mom. He saved Hee Seo when she was murdered. He was adopted by one of the people involved. He supported Hee Seo secretly. He hasn’t been honest about the evidence he’s been gathering on the people who adopted him. There is so much that points to Taekyung being the tree without roots. He’s just great at hiding it. We’ve been finding out so much on Taekyung from everybody else, his computer, the warehouse, some random memories on the mom.
This is what this story is about. It’s about getting justice and uncovering a mystery. Hee Seo and Taekyung are just going about it at different angles.
It makes so much sense that Sir Mío didn’t follow Ash.
The hopeless romantic in us is heartbroken, but that’s why we all liked Sir Mío. He was level headed amongst all the crazy suitors. It would have been surprising and out of character if he left.
He loves her and would have proposed if she stayed, but he couldn’t leave. He would have been miserable if he left just as she was miserable in that world. She couldn’t stay and he couldn’t leave.
We’re starting to see why his kink came to be. He likes seeing his partner be with other people because he likes the validation of his partner always choosing him. There also seems to be trauma, I’m suspecting his parents showcasing a toxic relationship with cheating and separating. One of the images they showed when they talked about how the relationship always ends the same, he looked like he was in high school, so I don’t think he was cheated on.
If they erase the kink by clearing his trauma in the future I’ll be disappointed.
This last few chapters feel like they were flying through, going through the motions of events. It feels rushed but I’m assuming it was done to cause confusion. If they flesh out season 2 and explain the gaps, it will improve the story. If they don’t, this story will be mid.
My assumption: detective is faking his death. He mentioned how mc jumped off the platform in previous chapter when he was younger. Anyway, detective’s death will scare the mc, and I’m assuming mc will be kidnapped on his birthday after an altercation with ML. ML will rescue mc in monster form and mc will have confirmation.
Complete speculation, but the foreshadowing is leading in this direction:
I’m wondering if those kids “sold” all the leftover drugs to Jaewyoong on a “loan” or they may already have a history of selling to him on a loan. Remember they get a bonus if they sold it all by tomorrow. They knew Jaekyung’s dad would O.D (or would eventually) because it’s a whooooole lot of drugs.
Then his ex-teammates are gonna go to Jaekyung because he’s honest and say “hey, 1st place…. You owe us some money, pay up or work for us to pay it off….” Jaekyung will then be forced to make a choice in his grief…
Oh, hahah. I was trying to not give away all my speculation because I have some ideas that aren’t fully fleshed out.
I don’t think he’ll do drug runs. He’s going to use up all his prize money, but he’ll be short. Competition money isn’t drug money, not with all those vials and syringes. Or maybe it is, but I seriously doubt it. JK will be obsessed with winning to make prize money, pay a debt and support himself. It’s also not cheap to bury, cremate etc a person, his prize money might be depleted that way.
I feel like he’ll end up living with the old man eventually. That’s why they’ll end up even more alike. He’ll help him with that debt somehow, probably by living together or maybe with cremation costs.
I imagine JK will be struggling to sleep the night before a competition, plagued by his father’s jinx. “He’ll only win when he dies”. He’ll lose comps. So he fudges the memory away the night before, is able to sleep and wins a comp. He re-writes his jinx. I’m still working on this theory….
Plus, Jaekyung is disgusted by his dad’s addiction. I can’t imagine him actually trying drugs.
Any theory with Junmin(the baldy)?!
Because when they met second time, Jumin mentioned Jaekyung's crying and Jaekyung said " he should've killed him right there", when he finally remembered the baldy.
I'm curious about sexual part of Jinx?! Where it comes from? Was it alternative to the drugs that he tried or offered by thugs (I'm still on it lol, I know, don't judge me hehe). I mean he didn't decide to have sex randomly to relieve stress out nowhere... so what was the cataclysm?! Dad?(i don't think so, cus he won 1st place, not 2nd or 3rd) drugs?! Fighting underground mma?( remember also, Jumin's upbringing was not legalize fights and he is super good at it too). He need to loose "something" for jinx to work. What is it?! Lol

I dunno if we’ll see his isekai story though lol
