I think this is a huge step for Maxi. Once again, she is resolving herself to step forward and heal from her traumatic past. Most importantly, she is doing it for herself.
Watching her grow and struggle has been really incredible. I really hope Riftan can see that and support her. I still think it was so instrumental when Ruth was willing to teach Maxi magic. The more capable Maxi becomes, the more confident she will be and the more removed she will be from her awful family and childhood.
